Northwest Mutual Milwaukee Neighborhood Scholarship 2015 http://sms.scholarshipamerica.org/northwesternmutual/index.html Students must meet the following eligibility criteria: Must be first-generation college students Be a currently attending senior or a graduate of a Milwaukee area high school. Must have a permanent residence in one of the following zip codes: 53206, 53210, 53204 OR be mentored by a Northwestern Mutual employee in one of the following Milwaukee area programs: Unity in Motion, Sponsor-AScholar, Notre Dame Middle School alumni program or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Milwaukee. Must be enrolled full-time for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 in an Undergraduate Program Scholarship applications will be judged by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America, on the following criteria: academic performance demonstrated leadership participation in school and community activities work experience an essay on how one might make a positive impact in his/her neighborhood and/or Milwaukee unusual personal or family circumstances an outside appraisal Awards If selected as a recipient, awards ranging from $6,000 to $8,000 will be granted at the following levels: Freshman: $6,000 Sophomore: $7,000 Junior: $7,500 Senior: $8,000 Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study at an eligible college or university and continuation of the program by Northwestern Mutual Foundation. Award recipients will also be provided the opportunity to receive a mentorship by an employee from Northwestern Mutual each year the award is granted. Grade reports are not acceptable. Online transcripts must display student name, school name, and credit hours earned for each course, and term in which each course was taken. Alverno College students are not expected to have a GPA or GPA equivalencies to apply for this scholarship opportunity. When you fill out the section pertaining to transcripts, you may fill in “N/A” regarding the GPA. You will still be expected to request a transcript from the Registrar’s Office and submit it along with your application.
