Description:
In her "The Whole-Brain Child in the Classroom" workshop, Dr. Bryson takes the central concept of
not only surviving difficult moments, but using them to help students thrive. The best teaching
strategies are the ones that not only help instructors maintain order and cover material effectively, but
that also challenge kids to become all that they're meant to be. Displaying her trademark warmth and
humor, Tina uses video, discussion, stories and lots of personal experience to help her audience
think more deeply about who they want to be as individuals, and how they want to interact with the
young minds they're nurturing and helping to grow. The latest scientific research-with a special
emphasis on neuroplasticity and the changing brain-is presented in a way that's clear, interesting, and
immediately practical. One primary focus of this workshop is the importance of creating a culture
within a classroom-and, even better, within an entire school-where students, parents, teachers, and
administrators all recognize the crucial role of relationships in learning and brain development. This
workshop will meet at Quinter Grade School, Quinter, KS 67752. For additional workshop

All enrollments & payments now occur online! Please go to www.friends.edu/edworkshops and carefully review the
provided information which will assist in enrollment.
In order to ensure success during enrollment, please read the information options below. If you still have questions
regarding enrollment, call Graduate Workshops at 316-295-5516 for assistance.
Step One-Everyone
All interested students need to begin by completing a brief Information Request Form (IRF). The location of this form is
found on the Friends University Teacher Education homepage at www.friends.edu/edworkshops (left side tab labeled
Information Request Form).
Step Two-New Students
For first time students, two to three business days after submitting your IRF, you will receive an email from the Friends
University Help Desk, providing a user identification number (student ID) and pin number (password). This information
will allow you to then click on the Enrollment-Self Service Banner tab ( found at www.friends.edu/edworkshops left-hand
side) to register and provide payment. If you need assistance, please refer to the Registration and Payment Instructions
tab, or call us at 316-295-5516. We will guide you through the steps!
Step Two-Returning Students
For returning students, please wait 1 business day after submitting the IRF, so that your account may be refreshed and
activated. After 1 business day, you may enter your Self Service Banner account (located at
www.friends.edu/edworkshops) to register and make payment. If you cannot recall your ID number or password, please
call the Help Desk at 316-295-5767 (or email at helpdesk@friends.edu) for assistance.
Enrollment Details
You may enroll 24/7 at your convenience! Once you have your log-in information, you will want to refer to the
Registration and Payment Instructions (also on the left side tab) for step by step instructions on registration as well as
payment. Use the above workshop information to assist with CRN#, etc. Once enrolled, you may provide payment by
manually entering the amount due; otherwise, you may wait 24 hours and a total amount due will be viewable on your
account. It is recommended to manually enter the amount due at the time of enrollment to complete all necessary steps
in one action.
