TRIP REVIEWS OŠ KOMENDA MOSTE 2013 – 2015 CREATED BY: Neža Dolmovič – Comenius team France - Tourcoing, January 2015 On Friday, 23.1.2015, at ten o'clock, me, my friends and some of the teachers started our way to France. When we started the journey we were all pretty excited, but as soon as we drove off, we fell asleep and after 16 hours of driving we arrived to France. We stayed in houses named La Verdierre in Tourcoing. Almost every day we visited primary school Jacques Prevert, and one day we went to see college Marie Curie in Tourcoing. So, as we stayed in France we did a lot of fun and interesting things, such as, having a picnic at the coast of North Sea, or one day we went to Belgium (Brugges) and we ate real Belgian waffles and had a tour around the city. After a week full of great moments, surprizes and a lot of laughter, we started our way home on Saturday afternoon. Happy but at the same time exhausted, we arrived in Komenda 1240 km later, at two o'clock in the morning. After we said goodbye to each other, and rushed towards our families, we went home, knowing that we had a great time and that we made a lot of awesome memories that will last for a lifetime. - Urška Planinc In January I went to France with the Comenius team and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The trip to there was quite long but I enjoyed every bit of it because the nature and all of the cities we pasted were beautiful. When we finally 'landed' in France the house was stunning and I'm absolutely obsessed with French architecture. The week we all spent together was amazing, we had a great time and we also visited Brugges in Belgium which is probably one of my favourite places. Especially the kids, that we also spent some afternoons with, were awesome and also their parents and families were so nice. They were all so kind and fun and just full of life. Also the teachers were lovely with us and we really felt like home. When we got to Lille the town was amazing. It was raining but it was also as beautiful and we went to toy shop and we all just had fun like we were little children. We had an amazing time as on the road as in the house back that we stayed. We had like music nights when we just played the guitar and sang and we played tonnes of interesting and silly games and overall the France was brilliant and amazing -Tia Skok Comenius was an unforgettable experience of my life. As soon as we knew that we will travel we just couldn't wait for a day when our road will begin. We packed our briefcases and stepped on the van and our road started. Travelling was long but it was worth every second. When we arrived we couldn't believe how beautiful it was - Everything. But we were tired and lazy so we laid on the sofas and weren't doing anything. I was so surprised when we went to the school where we saw kids from Asia, China and Africa. Their school is working on respect and I think they are good. I remember the city Lille. It was like in a dream. Square, lots of roads with a giant library, lots of shops. It was raining so we were a little bit sad but when I think now, I have remembered more because it was raining. Belgium and city Bruges were also beautiful which actually is like mini Venice. If I have had a chance to travel there again, I would go there for sure. And I will come back again. -Doroteja Petek IT WAS AN AMAZING WEEK! I've never been to France before, so I didn't know what to expect. When we arrived and saw where we're going to spend the next few days, I was kind of surprised, because I didn't imagine that Tourcoing is so nice place, because I've never heard of it before. I've met a lot of nice people, especially kids were really nice, although they didn't speak English, and we usually knew what they are trying to tell us. It was really touching when they started to cry when we had to leave. The only thing I disliked was the lack of organisation. Even teachers didn't really know what we're going to do next and we were a bit confused sometimes. I would like to thank EU, school, teachers and actually everyone that did something to organize and make this trip so fun :) - Neža Dolmovič WITH MY BEST FRIENDS IN FRANCE! When we arrived to France, we saw three beautiful houses. We didn’t think that we will have a lot of fun and party all night, but we had. I want to go back to friends because in school we met a lot of nice young children and they became our friends. When we had to go home they started to cry and it was sad. But I still remember a lot of positive happening. - Melanija Uranič WINTER FAIRY-TALE I experienced a lovely winter trip to Lille and I have lots of great memories from there. I was hanging out with lots of my friends and we spent a good time together. I would love to do that one more time because I've met a lot of different people and learnt about different cultures. I appreciate all people which organised that trip and I am very thankful and happy for that. - Matej Kovač In the project Comenius 10 students and 8 adults went to France, to Tourcoing. We had a great time. I liked our visits to primary school. Teachers were nice and children were very friendly and playful. I also liked our visit to Brugges. I think it is a very beautifull town. It was really fun trip, a big thanks to everyone involved. - Špela Plevel AWESOME EXPERIENCE I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about our trip to France. The kids were a wonder of their own - it kind of reminded me of my childhood back in Argentina: playing football with anything that could represent a ball, not caring about the mud and the rain... I also loved the group I was traveling there with - we were (and still are) good friends. We had a great time together. I was one of the best experiences in my life. Thank you to everyone that made his possible: The European union, our school, our municipality and probably a lot of other institutions and people, that helped the Comenius project work over the years. - Martin Rode In January 2015, school Komenda Moste organised with project Comenius, 9 days trip to France. I and other 9 children were chosen to go with our teachers in town in France, named Lille. I was really happy and I was wondering how France would look like. When we went to the houses where we stayed, our teachers told us how those days will go on. We went to school and became friends with kids from France. We saw many of sights and all of them were incredible. Unfortunately we couldn't go to Paris, because it was snowing so heavily. But anyway we saw a lot of things, and met new friends. It was really unforgettably. And for the last thing what I would like to say is thank you for everyone that gave us money and things that we needed for that great trip and thank you drivers that you safely drove and thank you Boštjan Železnik and other teachers who organised all! - Ula Kos In January we went to France with Comenius. It was very good trip. We've seen new culture and beautiful countries. The trip in Belgium was amazing. We saw old beautiful city with interesting houses and buildings. We ate chocolate waffles. In the end of the day we also went to ocean. There we had a picnic. It was very windy. On Monday we went to French school. Kids were very happy to see us. One day we went to Lille with subway. There was big library with a lot of books. Some afternoons we spent with French kids and their parents. Families were very kind and nice. We lived in such beautiful house with old fashion furniture. On Friday we thought we will go to Paris but weather was bad. We had great time and I will never forget this trip. - Ana Štebe ITALY- Rome, April 2015 IN THE ANCIENT CITY OF ROME This was not my first trip to Rome; in fact, I was there about a year ago, as part of the same projects with the same intentions. Even so, the city didn’t fail to amaze me. The first thing that impressed me was the house we stayed at, which was spacious, beautiful and, unlike the busy city, surprisingly peaceful. It even included a pool of considerable size, which we swam in multiple times. The distance from the house to the city centre was quite big and a bit of an annoyance as the daily commute lasted almost an hour – this was the price of peace and quiet. But it wasn’t all that bad, because we weren’t far from the vast, sandy Ostia beach. We visited it twice and even took a dip in the ocean, despite the water’s not-so-warm temperature and the occasional gusts of wind. Anyway, the city itself was stunning. Somehow, the ancient ruins still survived unscathed, especially the Coliseum. It seemed as times hand hadn’t gotten its grip on it. The sheer size of it also impressed me – It was unimaginable that it was all made by hand. Another beautiful feat of architecture was Vatican City with its numerous pillars, statues and places of worship. I was disappointed that the huge crowds prevented us from entering St. Peter’s basilica. Our friend and guide, Peter Lah showed us the other notable places in Rome and explained the history behind them and for that we thank him. The thing I missed the most in Rome was the nature – the plants and wildlife that are both abundant in my hometown. Our trip also included visiting Assisi, which I thought was even more beautiful than Rome –un-urbanized, ancient looking and awe-inspiring. It almost felt like the Romans of old still roamed the stony halls. It was better preserved than Rome and generally had a different vibe around it – Rome was, despite its history, a bustling metropolis whereas Assisi remained very much unchanged from the centuries passed. If I had to complain about anything at all, it would be the more urban lifestyle we had to adopt for the duration of our stay and the precautions we had to take from theft that is much more common in Rome than in Komenda. I would definitely recommend visiting Italy at least once to anyone who has the means to do so. It may not offer the lifestyle some people desire, but it offers a great experience of history and the present. Before I finish, I would like to thank everyone who made the trip possible – the EU, who founded the trip, Mr. Železnik, Mr. Kos and Mr. Bobnar, who were our drivers, organizers and did everything to ensure our safe and pleasant trip and also everyone who I failed to mention but also contributed to the Comenius project. - Boštjan Dobnikar I went to Italy, more specific in Rome in April, 2015. We stayed in great and huge house with pool and football pitch. Ten pupils travelled there with Mr. Železnik and two other teachers. I've spent some great time there and would like to visit Rome again. At the end, I want to thank Europe for financial assistance and starting this program, Mr. Železnik for all the hard work that he put on Comenius project and defiantly our school and mayor for supporting Comenius project in Komenda. - Tilen Bunčič When we arrived to Italy we were happy, because behind us was 10 hours of driving. The house was beautiful and in front of it was the swimming pool. The Italy was very beautiful but also dirty. We had a lot of fun and the week's gone by like a minute. I am thankfully to all people who helped, that I had a chance to go to Italy. I can’t forget this week. - Melanija Uranič This year I went to Roma with Comenius for the first time! We went there for nine days! The traveling group was perfect for me! The students and the teachers were just great! We saw a big part of Roma and all the interesting and famous buildings. I liked Colosseum the most. Also very interesting was going to school there. It is so much different than ours. I have met a lot of kind and friendly people there! The kids were so cute and nice too! We were very busy there but anything we do was fun and unforgettable. I am sad that I haven't joined the Comenius before. It is a very special and awesome project! I have met a lot of new people, cultures and buildings. I wish I could go to the same place with the same people once more! It was really awesome! - Žana Jereb We were in Italy more accurately in Rome. We stayed in a very nice house that had comfort and a home feeling all in one. Of course couldn't have gone if Europe wouldn't have given the money. I and everybody else had a wonderful time. The house we stayed in had a pool, a foosball table, and a very big garden. I don't think I will ever have such a good time as I did there. Thank you Europe for the money that gave us this kind of an opportunity. - Matej Kogovšek It was unforgettable. I brought home a lot of new knowledge, experiences and friends. In this new family I realized it is worth to try for others, help them and not sit at home in front of TV. If you are a member of Comenius you never get bored because they know how to make very good use of time. If one of us got in trouble we quickly helped them. Of course we've made arguments but nothing serious. We lived together prepared to rapid re-consent and so we were all happy again. We also went to Italian school, met new Italian friends with whom we understood very well. - Tjaša Korbar AMAZING PLACE IN ROME We had a brilliant week there. The house was amazing. The rooms were modern, lovely, clean and nicely decorated. The property was also brilliant. It was big and there was a pool with a slide and a springboard. When we arrived we were really happy, because there was water in the pool and means that we could swim in it. We swam in the pool and it was a pleasure. I wish I could go back there. - Ana Jenc UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE When people I know, asked me how it was, I just said “unforgettable”. The place where we were staying was amazing, the food was great and the people were polite and very kind. Even now, I don’t realize what happened to me and what luck I had. We had a great time there and if I had to decide again I would definitely said yes. I am really thankful to everyone that made this project possible and took me to this unforgettable trip, full of amazing experiences and newly-discovered friendships. That was something new for me and because of that I know, that I will remember this experience for a long, long time and I will never forget it. - Ana Pia Pogačar We were in Italy where I had amazing time with my friends. We saw all famous sights in the centre of Rome. The hosts were very friendly and that is the reason why those were the best spring holidays in Italy. I am thankful to my school and European Union, because they enabled me to go visit Italy for 8 days. I hope that the Comenius will exist in our school for a very long time in the future. - Matej Kovač This year's journey to Rome as well the stay there was amazing. Both, pupils and teachers at the school we visited greeted us warmly and their cooks prepared some of the traditional (and delicious) Italian dishes for us. We also visited a great deal of Rome's cultural-historical sites. Thank you Italy and thank you European Union for enabling us to receive this unique experience! - Pia Veronika Petrovič VISIT MEMBERS OF COMENIUS FROM ITALY Everything began on Friday, 24th of April at one o'clock p.m. We went with two small buses and two teachers. Everyone was so excited and shy at first but for a wile, on a long way to Roma we went more talkative and brave of meeting someone new. When we came in front of our house we were full of unknown feelings. Nobody knew what will happen there, how will it looking like and what expecting from other people. But despite our fears we became very good friends. We saw a lot of marvellous churches, cathedrals and basilics from Roman times which are really expensive and worth of tourist visits. One day we went to the beach of Atlantic ocean but it was too cold for swimming so we were just talking, playing with sand and a ball. Everything finished too soon but I’m however pleased that they allowed me to go with them. I had met great people so from our school and so from Italy school. Atmosphere there was incredible and indescribable because children made it in that way. They were singing, dancing and later they gave us their signatures and we could took photos with them. They were so cute. I will remember them all my life, look photos of my visit of Roma and smiling at the same time. I’ve just sorry because we didn’t see the church of the pope. It must be so beautiful and titanic with all of this delightful paintings, pictures and frescos. But we despite this appear more than enough perhaps colosseum, Pantheon and fragrant Spanish stairs. I am really thankful teacher Boštjan Železnik, our drivers and head of exchange students from France, Great Britain, Italy and Slovenia, because he edit all of our sightseeing and unforgettable moments. - Tjaša Korbar
