CHARGES INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest in The Old Church. At present The Old Church is entirely
volunteer run. At this key stage in our development, we are testing out new ways of
working so that we can function efficiently and serve the community for many years
to come.
This document explains what our organisational purpose is and how we intend to
fulfil our goals. It also clarifies the process by which we assess requests for use of
the building.
OUR MISSION
The Old Church offers a unique approach to building community through the arts.

OUR ACTIVITIES
To fulfil its mission, The Old Church will undertake three types of activity:
• a planned programme of arts events commissioned / curated by The Old
Church
• partnerships with local community and arts groups allowing subsidised hire of
the space
• commercial hire to subsidise all artistic and community work
COMMERCIAL/ STANDARD ARTISTIC HIRE
St Mary's Arts Centre is available for hire. The following pricing structure sets out our
commercial rates and standard rates for midweek and weekends.

Please note for artistic events where The Old Church runs the bar or has a share of
the ticket income, we are happy to discuss a hire charge reduction to the total fee.

If it is difficult for you / your organisation to pay a hire fee up front, and your event is a ticketed
event, we will consider working with a share of box office takings instead. To reflect the risk, The
Old Church would retain all box office takings up to the hire fee, as above, and then retain 30% of
takings thereafter. If you are interested in this option please indicate below, and we will discuss
