In memory of Christine Renée Côté who graduated with a degree in Communications in
Journalism and was enrolled as a master student in Human Communication Studies. She fought a six-year battle with cancer, but never lost her spirit and hope in her well-fought journey. Christine was a member of the Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society, member of the Orange County Scouting Program, Donate Life Motivational speaker and organ donor and many other organizations. Upon her demise, her corneas were donated so that others may see.
Christine’s message, “No matter what illness or tragedy you or a love one faces, if you look deeply enough into the situation, you have been given a chance to mature and grow on many different levels no matter how old you already are. You have been given the challenge to inspire and ignite hope in others. If you haven’t already, you will be given the opportunity to change your attitude and outlook on life for the better. I urge you to embrace that challenge either by your faith, scientific research or just looking inside yourself.”
All students are encouraged to apply.
