Racism The relationship between experiencing racism and negative health outcomes is an emerging area of research. XYZ Community INSERT LOCAL DATA HERE While still evolving, the research clearly indicates a strong relationship between selfreported racism and ill health, particularly: Negative mental health outcomes Health-related behaviors Research also indicates that stress from experiencing chronic hostility and fear can lead to negative health outcomes. These outcomes are seen even after controlling for differences such as income and access to adequate health care.
