Who it’s for: Teaching assistants, practitioners, teachers and other professionals working in key

This is a half day course. It runs from 1.00 pm to 3.30 pm.

What will you learn about:





What stammering is and isn’t, including more hidden behaviours
The nature of stammering development, possible causes and what the research tells us
(multifactorial model, demands and capacities model)
Understanding and recognising what can be a pressure on a child’s talking in school
How to help (including general advice and specific advice about problem areas for children who
stammer in nursery/ school) – we will watch a video clip
What to do if you’re concerned about a child. How to refer to us.
