BVSWMA Landfill Prohibited Waste
Following is a list of prohibited waste items that will not be allowed into the Rock
Prairie Road Landfill:
1. (Friable) regulated asbestos containing material (RACM);
2. Liquid waste and waste found to contain free liquids as determined by the
“paint filter test” required by TCEQ;
3. Lead acid batteries; (can recycle on site, please inform Scale House upon
arrival)
4. Fluorescent light ballasts, capacitors, and mercury vapor lamps from
commercial haulers;
5. Compressed gas containers which have not been punctured;
6. Barrels over 5 gallons which have not had the top removed;
7. Hazardous waste as listed in 40 CFR 261 (federal legislation)
8. Characteristic harazdous waste as determined by the EPA tests which
determined ignitability, corrosively, reactivity, or toxicity;
9. Non-household size chemical container that have not been triple-rinsed;
10. Used oil (can be recycle on site, please inform Scale House upon arrival);
11.Used oil filters (can be recycle on site, please inform Scale House upon
arrival);
12.Class I industrial waste;
13.Liquid paints;
14.Medical waste that is not properly treated, prepared, and handled according
to Subchapter Y of the Texas Municipal Solid Waste Code which covers
medical waste management (30 TAC dd 330.1001-300.1009);
15.Computer monitors, printers and CPU’s (can be recycle on site, please
inform Scale House upon arrival);
16.Any special waste which does not have previous approval from land fill
operator or environment compliance officer, nor a special waste form on
file;
