Student Attendance System
To report an absence or late arrival for your child, you will call either the toll free
number (1-877-409-6310) or log in to the designated web site
(hdsb.schoolconnects.com) .
In order to use the web site you must have authenticated your account information using
the user id and password sent to the email address you provided your school.
Within 15 minutes of school start time, schools have completed roll call and begun
locating students who are absent and unaccounted for.
The automated Student Attendance System will not permit you to report an absence or
late arrival for the current day after the 15 minute cut off time. If you need to report a
current day absence or late after cut off time you must call the school directly. If you
try reporting after cutoff, you will only be able to enter an absence or late for the next
school day or a future date.
When you call the 1 877 number you must listen for a confirmation number. Your
absence or late arrival will not be recorded if you hang up before you receive the
confirmation number.
If you are using the 1 877 number to report a late arrival you must first select “1” to
enter an absence. The next prompt will offer the late arrival as a reason for the
absence.
Parents who have two students in the same grade must call in an absence from a
recognized phone number (i.e. home phone or unblocked cell phone on record at your
school). For the safety of our students the system will not identify your children to a
caller at an unrecognized number.
Parents are always able to report an absence for students in the same grade using the
parent portal.
