Marlowe Theatre, Theatre Crew (0 Hours contract)

Manages:
None
Main Purpose:
To work as a member of the Marlowe Theatre technical team to deliver an excellent
standard of technical support for incoming productions through work on Stage,
Lighting, Sound or Wardrobe.
Duties:
1. To work alongside other Technical Staff to effect the safe and efficient
installation and operation of visiting producers’ equipment as directed.
2. To attend to the needs of the incoming production as directed by the Marlowe
Theatre Technicians
3. To work with agreed resource and within agreed time scales at all times.
4. To attend appropriate training for technical staff.
5. To manage own time in an effective, efficient and prudent manner.
6. At all times to work within relevant Health and Safety and Employment
legislation.
7. To work anti-social hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory
holidays, as required and necessary.
8. To complete a monthly time sheet and to submit it by given deadlines
9. To attend the Marlowe Theatre to be ready to start work at the given call times

including using skills for which you were employed to assist in an emergency as may
be directed
To ensure that all duties are carried out in a way that is customer orientated and
which places high value on the views, needs and requirements of the customer.
The duties of the post are subject to review and in this respect the details contained
are provided as an aid to the performance of the contract of employment.

Have a positive approach to a workload that may become stressful at times
An interest and knowledge of the wider Arts Entertainment industry
Desirable:
Experience
Experience of Counterweight flying and rigging
Experience of lighting design, installation and operation
Experience of sound design, engineering and operation
Experience of AV systems
Experience of Stage managing and calling shows
Experience of work in a wardrobe department and of dressing
Experience of set/ prop construction and maintenance
Experience of theatre fit up and strikes
Skills and Qualifications
ABTT Bronze Award, equivalent or higher or proven technical theatre skills
Relevant First Aid qualification
Full, clean drivers licence
