Mums and Tots of Warsaw Charity Projects Mums and Tots of Warsaw supports a number of charitable organizations through its fundraising efforts. The principal recipients of donations are currently the Children’s Home in Pacanów and the Orzeszek Preschool for disabled children in Poznań. Father Gwidon Children’s Home in Pacanów We have been supporting this home since 2004 which is ran by Nuns and currently houses approximately 35 children of all ages. The home is privately run by the Sisters who do not receive any government funding. Mums and Tots have organized Christmas presents for the children of this home as well as other children from extremely poor families through the Letters to Santa initiative. In recent years, Mums and Tots contributed funding for the purchase of a minivan for the home and also supports its older children who are due to leave the home at the age of 18 with basic home equipment. Orzeszek Preschool for Disabled Children in Poznań Mums and Tots began supporting this organization in 2010. This is a preschool for very disabled children ran by dedicated professional staff and is a sanctuary both for the children who benefit from specialist interaction and therapy and for their parents who can rely on a few hours of respite care. The preschool is in constant need of funding to cover its basic running costs such as heating and rent and for equipment such as special chairs which enable children to sit and breathe in relative comfort. Donations to the Orzeszek preschool have been monetary and in the last few years Mums and Tots have raised funds for basic running costs of the preschool. Mums and Tots is also involved in other fund raising initiatives for the above charities and supports other needy organizations. For more details, please see www.MumsandTots.pl/Charities.
