Dear Parents,
Thanks to all of you who have sent in your donations for the post-prom party! In
the days following our last email a flood of checks arrived in Randi’s mailbox – thank you so
much! However, we do still need checks from half of you; please make your contribution as
soon as possible. In case you have forgotten the contents of our last letter, here’s a recap:
The post-prom party is a gift to our sons and daughters from all of us. The largest
expense is the rental of the Greater Plymouth Community Center. This fabulous venue
offers gyms, an indoor pool with water slide, locker rooms, kitchen, activity rooms, and a
glass lobby that will be decorated to match our yet-to-be-chosen (as well as top-secret!)
theme. The students do not need to buy tickets to the senior prom – it is paid for out of
their class fund. The students do not need to rent limos for the prom – Penn Charter rents
trolleys and all the students are transported together to the prom in style. All the students
who attend the prom are required to attend the post-prom party, and the trolleys will take
them straight there after the prom.
We need your donation now. We are asking for a minimum donation of $90 per
senior. If you would like to utilize Penn Charter’s Grace Fund for financial aid for this
donation, please contact Travis Larrabee. If your child’s date is an underclassman or a
student at another school, your single donation covers their attendance at the post-prom
party. All the parents of the class of 2011 (and only the parents of the class of 2011) are the
sponsors of the post-prom event. Students who do not attend the prom (and most years
there are only 2-3 who do not) are still encouraged to attend the post-prom party and
usually do so.
