Dear Senior Parents & Families,
We, as a community, have an obligation to provide a safe and wholesome atmosphere for our children
and young adults. Communities across the nation have successfully presented exciting and safe parties
for high school students to attend following their proms. Maine-Endwell APP continues to offer this
event as this will be our 27th year to provide a sensible and enjoyable alcohol and drug free alternative
celebration following their prom. This is an ambitious project, but the statistics relating to teen alcohol
related deaths underscore the importance of this endeavor.
This year the Senior Prom will be on Friday, June 13th and our After Prom Party (APP) will begin at
midnight and conclude at 5:00 a.m. with the drawing of grand prizes. This event is optional, but highly
encouraged and is free of charge for senior students and their dates. We are hoping to duplicate the
success of last year’s event. We strive to have 100% of eligible students attend the APP. We truly
believe that most young adults will make good choices when provided with a viable option. The party
involves music, games, entertainment, and prizes for all students along with lots of food and drinks. Our
goal is to have each senior student who attends walk away with a prize. The prizes range from various
gift cards to large grand prizes. The budget for this event is approximately $12,000 and this special
evening cannot be successful without the continued generous support of parents, teachers, alumni,
Maine-Endwell community neighbors and business members.
We are asking for your support, but the good news is that we are not necessarily asking for money. You
may choose to donate prizes, gift certificates, and food or drink donations. We are also in need of
Parent Volunteers, which might include but not limited to: volunteering at fund-raisers, bottle drives,
helping to plan for the event which can include: shopping for prizes, coordinating entertainment, food,
decorating, set-up, working the event, to clean-up!
This event is for the safety of our children, but more importantly our families, our school and our
community. If you have any questions please contact an APP Board Member. We need your help to
make this a success! Please complete the APP Donation and Volunteer form. No donation is too small.

APP Board Member. You don’t have to commit to long hours; your assistance is needed in many ways during the
