3D Home - Revit (2D plans and 3D model published to web)
1. Choose a home that is represented by 2D images or drawings (internet, magazine, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
a. Two (2) Stories, with interior stairway, minimum of 9' from 1st floor to 2nd floor
(8’ ceiling and 1’ allowance for structural/mechanical)
b. 1st and 2nd floors are not copies
c. At least one exterior wall cannot be continuous from 1st floor to 2nd floor
(1st and 2nd floor footprints do not match exactly, also a modification can be made to a floor)
d. Include kitchen and bath, bedroom, living room, etc.
e. Windows on exterior walls, and Doors/Openings for each space
f. Square and Rectangular footprints will NOT be acceptable
2. Unique Home! - (students will NOT be working on the same home type)
a. Check Y:\AE222\_Home Images to verify that your Home isn’t already selected
b. Save your Exterior View Image to Y:\AE222\_Home Images with your last name as the file
name.
3. Print out the following (each on a separate 8.5x11 for a total of 4 sheets):
a. 1st Floor Plan
b. 2nd Floor Plan
c. Exterior View/s (choose one of the following)
i. Front Elevation and Side Elevation or Back Elevation
ii. Combined Front/Side Perspective or Isometric
4. Import 2D AutoCAD drawing/s or raster image/s into Revit (check scale and rotation).
5. 3D Model - include the following:
a. Exterior Walls (1st and 2nd Floor) correct wall types with finishes (modify wall structure)
b. Interior Walls (1st and 2nd Floor) correct wall types with finishes (modify wall structure)
c. Doors
d. Windows
e. Stairs (connecting 1st and 2nd floors - allow openings in ceiling and floor)
f. Kitchen (Kitchen cabinets, Range, Refrigerator, etc.)
g. Bath (Water Closet, Lavatory, Bathtub, etc.)
h. Floors
i. Ceilings
j. Roof
k. Furniture (Bedroom, Living Room, Dining Room, etc.)
6. Site – Include a site with landscaping, sidewalk, driveway, etc.
7. Save revit (rvt) file
8. Export file with 2d plans and 3D shaded model as a DWF file with the name hw2.dwf (case sensitive,
all small letters). Copy this file into your WWW folder. The TA will grade the 3D model on your
website by starting with your homepage link on Angel.
