Sahih al-Islamic scholars state that no age limits have been fixed by Islam for marriage. Children of the youngest age may be married or promised for marriage, "although a girl is not handed over to her husband until she is fit for marital congress". 1994 D. A. Your women are your fields, so go into your fields whichever way you like Quran in Sura 2:223 (Al Baqarah / The Cow) (MAS Abdel Haleem, The Qur’an, Oxford UP, 2004) Quran in Sura 2:228 (Al Baqarah / The Cow) And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; but men have a degree (of advantage) over them. Wives have the same rights as the husbands have on them in accordance with the generally known principles. Of course, men are a degree above them in status (Sayyid Abul A’La Maududi, The Meaning of the Qur’an, vol. 1, p. 165) Quran in Sura 4:11: (An Nisâ' / The Women) to the male, a portion equal to that of two females The share of the male shall be twice that of a female (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 311) Quran in Sura 2:282 says: (Al Baqarah / The Cow) and get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her And let two men from among you bear witness to all such documents [contracts of loans without interest]. But if two men be not available, there should be one man and two women to bear witness so that if one of the women forgets (anything), the other may remind her. (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 205). Quran in Sura 4:24 says: (An Nisâ' / The Women) Also (prohibited are) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess: And forbidden to you are wedded wives of other people except those who have fallen in your hands [as prisoners of war] (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 319). Quran in Sura 4:3 says: If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing injustice. And if you be apprehensive that you will not be able to do justice to the orphans, you may marry two or three or four women whom you choose. But if you apprehend that you might not be able to do justice to them, then marry only one wife, or marry those who have fallen in your possession. (Maududi, vol. 1, p. 305) Quran in Sura 4:34 says: (An Nisâ' / The Women) Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all). If you fear high-handedness from your wives, remind them [of the teaching of God], then ignore them when you go to bed, then hit them. If they obey you, you have no right to act against them. God is most high and great. (Haleem) Quran in Sura 65:1, 4 says: (At Talâq / Divorce) Such of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the prescribed period, if ye have any doubts, is three months, and for those who have no courses (it is the same): for those who carry (life within their wombs), their period is until they deliver their burdens: and for those who fear Allah, He will make their path easy O Prophet, when you [and the believers] divorce women, divorce them for their prescribed waiting—period and count the waiting—period accurately . . . 4 And if you are in doubt about those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, (you should know that) their waiting period is three months, and the same applies to those who have not menstruated as yet. As for pregnant women, their period ends when they have delivered their burden.
