2015 Graduation Ceremony
Commencement for your class will be held on Wednesday June 17 at Avery Fisher
Hall, Lincoln Center. Check the website for details on the ceremony at www.sgu.edu
in the News & Events Section.
There will be two ceremonies held on June 17th. The first will begin at 10am for those
who are members of the January class. The second, held at 3pm, is for members of the
August class. The subject line of this email confirms your graduation time.
Please fill out the attached form and return via email. Failure to do so will result in ticket
delays, fewer guest tickets and possible exclusion from the ceremony. Each candidate
will receive 4 guest tickets. Tickets will be mailed in May along with check in cards and
honor cord vouchers, if applicable.
Be aware that your completion/diploma dates and the date of the Commencement
Ceremony are independent of one another. Any questions concerning your
completion date or diploma date should be directed to the Office of Registrar.

Please note the following:
Hooding: A hooder must be a parent or spouse only. Proof of MD degree will be required
and should be sent in with this form. Copy of license or diploma is sufficient. Additional
information regarding the hooding process will be provided to all approved hooders before
the ceremony.
Finances: Contact the Department of Student Finances at 631-665-8500 to clear any
outstanding balances. Failure to do so will result in ticket delays and/or jeopardize your
graduation status.
Cap and Gown: Information regarding your cap & gown will be sent in a separate email.
Completed forms must be submitted before regalia can be ordered.
Tickets: Each candidate will receive 4 tickets. Graduates will not require a ticket.
Hooders and children will need a ticket for entry.
