DualVET European Network Associated Member Protocole DualVETEuropean Network 1 Introduction TheDualVETEuropean Network aims to create a community of experts and institutions interested on dual training approaches with the goal of sensitizing companies, policy makers and society towards the attractiveness of qualified vocational education and training. In detail, this network aims to bring together players in dual training systems, such as companies, chambers of commerce and industry and vocational and training institutions to transfer knowledge, expertise and good practices on dual training systems. This document was designed by the DualVET partnership to act as a Protocol for future members of the DualVETNetwork, to be carried out within the scope of this European Project. It will set the basis for cooperation of all members of the DualVETNetwork and, as such, it will provide a definition of the mission statement and the network structure, its objectives by presenting the actions and the codes of conduct and the specific guidelines for making use of the DualVET project information. This document shall be signed by all future members joining the network as a proof of their commitment and acceptance of the principles guiding the DualVETNetwork. DualVETEuropean Network 2 Summary This document is an agreement between the DualVET partnership and its network members. In order to establish the DualVET Network as part of the key-results of the DualVETProject, financed with the support from the European Commission, under the Lifelong Learning Programme – Transfer of Innovation (Grant Agreement number20131-ES1-LEO05-66544), this protocol is to be respected by the project partners and by the members of the DualVET Network and entails five main elements: Mission Statement Core Actions Beliefs within the DualVET Network Codes of Conduct Good Practices Procedures and Bad Practices to be avoided. Each member of our network is committed to adopt, on a voluntary basis, the DualVETProtocol. Failure to comply with the following elements of the DualVETNetwork may result in the exclusion from the Network. DualVETEuropean Network 3 The DualVET Network Protocol Mission Statement TheDualVETEuropean Network aims to create a community of persons and organizations interested on dual training approaches with the goal of sensitizing policy makers and society towards the attractiveness of qualified vocational education and training as key drivers of both National and European employments. Core Actions The DualVET network will strive to achieve the following specific objectives: Objective 1: To promote the DualVET concept, share knowledge about dual training systems and transfer successful practices and guidance for implementingdual training in European companies, especially from the automotive and tourism sector. Objective 2: To grant access to associated members to targeted information about dual training systems, including successful practices and guidance for incompany implementation purposes; Objective 3: To bring together at National and European level, players involved or contributing to dual systems, such as chambers of commerce and industry, small and medium enterprises and vocational and training institutions, to network and share knowledge and expertise about dual training systems; Objective 4: To be a recognised institution and/or company by the DualVETproject and benefit from the possibility to be presented to other similar players in Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal and other countries across Europe, while actively contributing to the diminishing of youth unemployment and to the promotion of entrepreneurship competitiveness. Objective 5:To raise awareness of the European community, particularly in the field of automotive and tourism, about the importance of dual training approaches in companies; The success of the DualVET network will be based on the capacity both from the DualVET project partners and the Associated Members to successfully accomplish the following results: Setting up the DualVETnetwork; Discuss as a group important issues related with vocational education and training; DualVETEuropean Network 4 Share knowledge and best practices both at National and European level about dual training systems, in the perspective from the training provider and from the company; Promote activities, results, information related with dual training systems through the DualVET means (such as events, website, twitter and other media); Take advantage of the possibility to participate and to be involved in the events of the partnership, taking place in Spain, Portugal, Austria and Germany; Provide all members with the opportunity to network and get acquainted with “role-model” companies and organizations across Europe involved in dual training systems and gain visibility through the project’s activities; Guarantee presence of the members on the DualVETNetwork webpage as Associate Member with a direct link to its official webpage; To be invited to participate in the DualVETFinal Conference in Spain and benefit from the possibility to present a project about dual training and submit an article for the Conference, thus ensuring visibility of their own projects/initiatives; Benefits for DualVET Network Members All members of the DualVET Network will benefit from exclusive access to a comprehensive portfolio of resources, including networking events, research and best practices. In detail, members will enjoy: Active cooperation with a wide network of players across Europe that includes chambers of commerce, companies, training providers, VET schools and business associations; The possibility of sharing know-how, experiences and best practices on Dual Training systems (including issues such as recruitment, in-company training, standards, problems…); The opportunity of receiving updated information’s about European & National VET policies/strategy; The possibility of being promoted and showcased as a “success-case” through the DualVETactivities and events, across Europe. Note: Associate members will not be compensated for any costs. Requirements from Associate Members To subscribe the DualVETNetwork Protocole; To inform the DualVET Network members about relevant public events promoted by its organisation; DualVETEuropean Network 5 To provide contacts for enlarging and developing the DualVETnetwork; To support the DualVET network dissemination activities among its network of contacts. Beliefs within the DualVET Network - - The network is based on voluntarism, honesty and transparency of all members, open communication between the members and positive approach towards the work; Each member is a valuable resource and committed to reach the aim of the network; Every member undertakes and understands the key principles the DualVET project and provides accessibility to information and resources for the network and its stakeholders. Codes of Conduct The adoption of Codes of Conduct is increasingly becoming recognized as a key means to increase transparency and Good Practices. Codes of Conduct are important to set the background and rules for professional and ethical behaviour for all those who are involved in the network and to indicate to third parties the standard to be expected from the DualVET Network. Integrate motivated and suitable Associated Members; Be professional: serious, responsive and committed; Reply promptly; Provide complete and correct information; Maintain an up-to-date status; Contribute to the continuous development of Excellence in the network; Provide complete and correct information on time; Share Best Practices. DualVETEuropean Network 6 Good Practices Procedures and Bad Practices to be avoided The following practices are recommended to the members of the DualVETNetwork and serve as procedures that help standardize and professionalize the way members make use of theDualVET information: - Always reply to e-mails from the DualVET network and provide information whenever requested; - Make regular and consistent animation of the network trough dissemination of accurate information and report the activities in a consistent way; - Promotion of the DualVET Network in events is highly appreciated and requires previous notice to marta.pinto@inovafor.ptwith, at least, 15 days in advance. Potential future developments The parties (both partners and associated members) recognise that many opportunities exist for future developments and may well include activities of the following types: I.Ensuring the DualVET network sustainability: that is, making sure it continues to deliver benefits to the beneficiaries and/or other constituencies for an extended period after the end of the project. II.Establishing fruitful collaborations with other projects/initiative revolving around the topics of transfer of experienced knowledge on dual training systems focusing on training companies trainers on transversal skills and competences. In practice this means creating synergies with other entities, which can pass by the co-organisation of events or workshops, but also through a deeper exploitation of the network through new funded initiatives.
