Renovations and Restoration Update From the Chief Administrative Officer
During 2013 we were able to completely replace all of the roofs on the Main Church Building and replace all of the roofs
on the Early Learning Center. Most of the main Church buildings were replaced with new slate roofs, such as the
Sanctuary, Turner Chapel and the Preschool wing. The balances of the roofs were flat roofs, which have been replaced
with the newest technology in energy efficient materials. All of the Early Learning Center roofs are flat and they were
also replaced with the newest technology in energy efficient materials. These new roofs will now protect the interior of
our buildings and make the building water tight and protected from the weather. We have taken this opportunity to also
improve the overall energy efficiency of our buildings, saving money for ministry.
Both buildings were also fully sealed and waterproofed on the exterior to further improve the energy efficiency of the
buildings and ensure that the buildings are water tight and protected from the weather. In addition to the water
proofing of the exterior of the Main Church Building and Early Learning Center, all of the exterior wood (except Church
Windows, see below) or EFIS were painted to preserve the exterior of the buildings.
The stained glass windows of the Sanctuary and Turner Chapel contract have all been restored and new protective
plated glass covers installed to protect the stained glass windows and to eliminate any yellowing of the protective
covering in the future. All of the wood frames around the stained glass windows and been sealed and then painted.
All of the exterior doors for the entire main Church building have been restored and painted to preserve their original
beauty.
Last summer restoration work on the interior of the Main Church was completed, which included the painting of all walls
and wood surfaces, carpeting, new vinyl wood-like flooring, new ceiling tiles, new insulation, new energy efficient
lighting in the classrooms, hallways, offices and other common areas of the Church. We also upgraded all of the security
systems, fire systems and electrical systems in the Main Church building.

God continues to bless us with a faithful and generous congregation, an excellent R&R committee, a great General
Contractor, reliable and high quality sub-contractors and safety for all of the workers. We are so thankful for the
patience and support of all of the members of the Church, staff, children and parents who are living with the
inconveniences of the needed improvements to St. Luke. Thank you for all your support.
Report from the Pastor
At the beginning of the Capital Campaign, we made a commitment to emerge from the project debt free and complete
all of the needed renovations and restoration needed at St. Luke Church. We are happy to report that God continues to
bless St. Luke Church, through our faithful and generous congregation and all outstanding debt has been repaid and St.
Luke Church is now 100% debt free!! This early payment of the debt has saved the church tens of thousands of dollars,
versus waiting until the end of the campaign to pay off the debt.
We have received a large amount of prepaid pledges and continue to receive pledge payments each week, which helps
us continue to meet the cash needs of the renovations and restoration projects. The pledge prepayments and weekly
receipts continue to build back our cash position. We will endeavor to schedule the needed renovations to use the cash
that will be available in the Capital Campaign account, as pledge payments are received.
