Earned Points Maximum Points 40 20 20 10 10 Comments: 100 Project Grade: 7 Essential Presentation Tips for This Project 1) Every presentation should begin with a title slide containing at least the name of your presentation and group members. Each slide should have a title describing what the slide is about. 2) Keep information brief and to the point. You are writing key points – not paragraphs. Slides should not have more than 3-4 lines of text, with no more than 7 words per line. The words on the screen are key talking points that you can then elaborate on. 3) Have bulleted points appear one at a time so the audience listens to you rather than reading the screen. 4) Choose an easy-to-read font and use at least size 26 for the text. Be mindful of how the colors show up on different colored or patterned backgrounds. Choose text and background colors that are clear, easy to see, and not distracting. 5) Use pictures to enhance your presentation. Pictures should be clear and easy to see. Make them as large as possible – but don’t distort the image. 6) Keep it simple. Avoid the temptation to use too much (or too silly) animations, sounds, or transition effects. This can detract from the points you are trying to make. 7) View your presentation from beginning to end, at least once, before your presentation to the class. This will ensure that your layout, animations, etc. all work exactly as planned.
