Through this careful evaluation, Skyline Literacy strives to create a positive experience for both our tutors and learners. The Skyline Literacy office has a library of texts, workbooks, games, and supplemental teaching aids. Unless you have sufficient experience and/or training, all volunteer tutors must participate in a Tutor Training Workshop focusing on Basic Literacy, ESOL, Citizenship, or GED instruction. You may attend more than one training to improve your skill set and increase your tutoring options. In order to provide group instruction bi-weekly, we prefer to assign teams of tutors to each small group. Skyline Literacy’s website www.skylineliteracy.org provides the following for both volunteers and learners: registration forms, additional resources, and evaluations; as well as the Learner Hours & Progress Report, a quarterly e-newsletter, and up-to-date announcements
