BASIC NATURE OF POSITION:
Responsible for evaluating and diagnosing mental, emotional and substance use disorders in
children, adolescents and adults. Assists to shape and direct the integrated behavioral health
services of the clinics in collaboration with the LCSW/BHI Coordinator. Formulates and
administers treatment programs designed specifically for patients’ particular disorders.
Coordinates Behavioral Health Integration multi-disciplinary team, including the LCSW/BHI
Coordinator, Psychiatrist and other staff so that they work to accomplish a task and treatment
plans for patients.

Bachelor’s degree in psychology or behavioral related field.
Licensed in the State of Michigan through the Association of State and Provincial
Licensing Boards.
Minimum of three (3) years in a clinical environment.
Experience with pediatric, primary care and consultation-liaison psychology
Experience working with children, adults, families and underserved, transient
populations and clinical co-morbidities.

4. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Evaluate and diagnose mental, emotional and substance use disorders in children,
adolescents, adults and families.
B. Utilize various techniques to identify disorders and determine treatments, including, but not
limited to interviewing the patient, observation of the patient and psychological testing and
recognize symptoms and categorize each one in an effort to reach an eventual diagnosis.
C. Gather and analyze information to select the best solution for each patient.
D. Formulate and administer treatment programs specific to patient’s particular disorder.
E. Assist to shape and direct the integrated behavioral health services of the clinics in
collaboration with the LCSW/BHI Coordinator.
F. Coordinate Behavioral Health Integration multi-disciplinary team, including the LCSW/BHI
Coordinator, Psychiatrist and other staff so that they work to accomplish a task and treatment
plans for patients.
G. Detect changes in a patient’s circumstances or behavior. Identify the reason(s) or underlying
principles driving a patient’s behavior and responses.
H. Make observations and obtains information from relevant sources.
I. Communicate with patient’s family members regarding ways they can participate and help
with patient’s treatment plans.
J. Provide pertinent information about patients to co-workers, supervisors and medical doctors.
K. Develop specific objectives for each patient. Establishes long range goals for patients and
plans to achieve the goals.
L. Monitor information in electronic health record files.
M. Keep up to date on new techniques and technology and applies them to evaluation and
treatment processes.
N. Provide instructions and guidance for subordinates.
O. Ensure all processes are compliant with federal and state laws and regulations.
P. Knowledge of biological, psychological and social development theories, diversity and cultural
competency, interpersonal relationships, family group dynamics, mental disorders, additions,
impacts
Q. Travel to all TWP sites and throughout the organization’s service area and the State.
R. Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
S. Adhere to corporate and departmental policies, practices and procedures.
