Prayer Items December 1013
1. Courses: The first Rest and Restoration weekend happens on the 6/7/8 December 2013. We have 22
attending which is the maximum we can take. Please pray that people may come and find rest and restoration in
the Father's presence. As this is the first one we will be learning as we go so pray we listen well and get the
balance right. We are continuing to plan for next year's programme and in particular for the visit of the Ffald y
Brenin team in July. Please pray for wisdom and discernment in our planning. George and Fiona stayed with Roy
and Shirley Searle for a night and visited the Northumbrian Community who continue to support us in prayer and
Roy will be leading courses next year.
2. Board Members and Management Group Weekend: We had a very successful Members and Management
Group away day on the 9th November. We discussed a range of issues and got down to some serious planning
regarding future courses and the management of the Centre. There was a great spirit and sense of unity so thank
you all for your prayers.
3. Building Works: Money continues to come in to enable building works to keep going. Our first two en suite
bedrooms will be complete for the R and R weekend and the new (temporary) kitchen will also be finished
allowing us to form a new dining area where the old kitchen was. The downstairs toilet in Dundarroch has been
tidied up and painted and the Outhouse is ready to be framed out and lined so that it can be used for a laundry
room/art room. When more money comes in we will start the refurbishment of the last two en suite bedrooms
upstairs in Dundarroch. However, our main concern is the church and manse roof. It is leaking and needs to be
urgently repaired for the winter. We have had some success with grant money as detailed below but we need
more. Pray for those working on site, both paid and voluntary, that they may experience God's presence and His
blessing as they build. Pray for Alan Carr our host on site as he co-ordinates the work and welcomes people.
4. Finance: God is good and we continue to receive gifts and pledges which is so encouraging. These have
included gifts of £10,000 and £5,000 both of which can be gift aided and a number of smaller gifts. This has
meant that we can meet all our costs and outstanding debts to date. Pledges for the Storehouse Fund continue to
come in, albeit slowly, and we have passed the 50 mark. We successfully applied for a grant from a churches
fund for the roof – they gave us £2,000. We will continue to seek other funds in order to raise at least £20,000 for
the roof repair. God is releasing His resources as we build, just as He promised, so give thanks for all He is
doing.
5. Prayers: Pray for the communities and churches on Arran. Pray that the Lord may be glorified on the island
and His Kingdom may be experienced in every facet of life. Pray for those who have come to give their time to
the re-building of Sannox and pray that God would call greater numbers to come. He is building community
among us, both local and dispersed; pray that we listen and learn about how He wants to do this.
