Through its Literary Arts Touring initiative, South Arts will award grants of up to $2,500 for literary projects that contain both a public reading and an educational component such as a writing workshop. The project can include single or multiple writers involved in an event (writers series, festivals, or single engagements). The maximum grant request is 50 percent of the writers’ fee(s). Qualified projects must take place between July 1, 2015, and June 30, 2016. To be eligible, organizations must be designated as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or be a governmental organization and be located in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
