1. Program: Research Fellowship Programs
Agency: American Institute of Indian Studies
Next Deadline: Jul 01, 2013
Supports up to 35 scholars from all disciplines to conduct research in India. Junior Fellowships
focus on doctoral candidates; Senior Research Fellowships support Ph.D. scholars. Performing
and Creative Arts Fellowships and Professional Development Fellowships are for scholars and
professionals who have not worked in India. Applicants may include U.S. citizens and citizens of
other countries who are college students or faculty members at U.S. IHEs. Language programs
also available. Annual deadline is July 1.

Agency: Institute of Museum and Library Services
Next Deadline: Jul 01, 2013
Provides noncompetitive grants of $4,000 of consultative resources and services to participating
museums. Three types of assessments are supported: institutional, collections management
and public dimension. The grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis after being
approved by the director of IMLS. Eligible organizations should select one of the assessment
types and prepare an application for either the July 1 or December 1 deadline. MAP is a
cooperative program between IMLS and the American Association of Museums.

3. Program: JUSFC Grant Programs
Agency: Japan-United States Friendship Commission
Next Deadline: Jul 01, 2013
Supports reciprocal research programs between the U.S. and Japan in support of the
continuation of close friendship and cooperation. Awards will be made on the basis of academic
or professional excellence evaluated in relation to national and cultural needs for certain
professional fields; existing gaps in understanding; and availability or lack of other sources of
support. Deadline is July 1 annually. Other programs available.

Agency: National Endowment for the Humanities
Next Deadline: Jul 18, 2013
Grants support projects that address major challenges in preserving/providing intellectual
access to humanities resources. NEH encourages digital projects that codify, unite, integrate, or
aggregate humanities collections and resources. Applicants may also propose projects to
develop a reference work or tool. Projects that integrate tools and reference works with digital
collections to provide context to humanities materials and to facilitate discovery are also
encouraged. Awards are for three years and are up to $350,000.

5. Program: Kluge Fellowships
Agency: The Library of Congress
Next Deadline: Jul 15, 2013
Allows qualified scholars to conduct research in the Kluge Center using the Library of Congress
collections and resources for up to 12 months. Stipend of $4,200/month for residential research
at the Library. Humanistic and social science research that makes use of the Library's
collections is strongly encouraged. Eligible applicants are scholars who have received a
terminal advanced degree within the past seven years in the humanities, social sciences or a
professional field such as architecture or law. Up to 10 awards are made each year.

Agency: U.S. Agency for International Development
Next Deadline: Jul 01, 2013 (target date)
Considers five-page concept papers and 15-page proposals addressing ways to advance U.S.
foreign assistance objectives (see instructions). Applicants must demonstrate clear
understanding of USAID's sector and country strategies and should propose specific
institutional linkages that are not supported by other USAID programs. Projects that are based
only in the U.S. or that propose U.S. infrastructure development are not eligible. Matching
requirement is 25 percent. Annual deadlines are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1 and 10/1.

7. Program: Creative Arts Exchange
Agency: U.S. Department of State
Next Deadline: May 06, 2013
Creative Arts Exchange (CAE) initiatives are arts-based international people-to-people
exchanges that support and further DOS foreign policy objectives. FY 13 eligible themes include
Economic Statecraft and the Arts, Arts in Collaboration, Community Engagement through the
Arts, and Professional Development in the Arts. Approximately $2 million may be available for
up to five awards. Limited submission: one proposal per institution.
