Oklahoma Cultural Heritage Trust staff and Amigos Library staff members are available to review draft proposals. Encourages first-time grant applicants Guidelines post in February or March, May deadline (usually the first Tuesday of May) Eligible organizations include U.S. non-profits that own humanities collections Must have one professional full-time employee, paid or unpaid Review list of sample projects and sample narratives available on the NEH website. Must be open at least 120 days of the year Funding may be requested for needs assessment/consultations; education and training; environmental monitoring equipment/storage furniture/supplies. Funding also may be requested for sustaining digital collections. Funding IS NOT provided for digitizing content or building infrastructure or developing systems to manage digital assets. All grants MUST be submitted through www.grants.gov. Application can be no more than five pages and consists of an abstract, narrative (statement of need, goals and objectives, methodology/plan of work), budget, and supporting documentation. Narrative should support claims with evidence, avoid jargon, emphasize that the applicant is capable of completing the project. Use an outside editor and budget reviewer. Be sure to include the requested supporting documentation which includes resumes of staff and consultants, executive summary of your preservation plan (if applicable), and letters of support. The Oklahoma Cultural Heritage Trust, Oklahoma Museums Association, Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Oklahoma Historical Records Advisory Board, and Amigos Library Services will write support letters.
