HAR-BUR INSTRUMENTAL LESSON PROGRAM
BAND GRADES 5 & 7 2013-2014
Each student has one scheduled lesson time within the six day rotation.
The scheduled lesson time stays the same throughout the year.
Prior to each lesson, students are required to speak with their teacher for
permission and to take care of any missed work.
In the event that a student is not allowed to attend his/her instrumental lesson
(determined by classroom teacher), that student must write a note explaining
the absence. This note must be signed by the corresponding teacher, and
delivered to Mr. Riccio or Ms. Cleveland within one full day of the missed
lesson. Students who bring a signed note within this time frame will be
excused from the lesson and their grade will not be impacted.
**If Mr. Riccio or Ms. Cleveland do not receive a note for a missed lesson,
the student will not be excused from the lesson and that student’s grade will
be impacted.
**If a student is absent from school, or leaves school early, that student does
not need to provide a note and his/her grade will not be impacted.
As students are assessed individually during instrumental lessons, it is
essential that students be prepared for all lessons. Students must bring the
following to each lesson:
-Instrument (In working condition- with reeds/ valve oil/ slide cream)
-Practice card (Filled out to current day and SIGNED BY PARENT)
-Band Folder (Including all music and handouts given out by Mr. Riccio)
Students who are not prepared with these items will have points deducted from their lesson grade.
Mr. Riccio will hold lessons in the Band Room
Ms. Cleveland will hold lessons in Room 108 (across from band room)
