1789-1797
George Washington was
born on February 22,
1732.
He died from a throat infection on
December 14, 1799. There are
some who say he died from
pneumonia or that the doctor bled
him, which was a common
practice back then, and he bled
him too much and that caused his
death.
In George’s early life he
moved to his half brother
Lawrence’s Estate.
George did not learn how to
read, write, or do math in
school. Instead he had a tutor.
Math was his best subject. He
was 11 and his dad died so
George quit school.
George was a
surveyor, and he
also worked in the
troops.
George was the commander
of the army and he was in
the revolutionary war.
George Washington was known
as the president that was the
first president. Also, the people
didn’t know what to call him so
they just called him Mr.
president.
In, 1793 the war broke out between
Britain and France. On April 22, U. S.
declares neutrality. Washington
accepted Joy’s treaty which settled
the arguments between American and
the British.
George Washington has adopted 2 children. He also married
a young widow that was 26 years old and her name was
Martha Custis. The people wanted him as a new king but
George thought it was time for a change and came up with
president. Also, that tale of him cutting down the cherry
tree is not true. Martha had 2 children already when George
married her. And he was the commander in chief of the
Continental Army. He also lead the revolutionary war.
