 Still doing
 As before, extending it half hour before last semester’s
 Social Hour – 2/7 7:00-9:00pm Atlas
 Grad Bash/Week
 Night of Opera
 April 19-26
 Martini Night
 Still working with Theatre to do a screening
 Free yoga class
 Downtown root cellar
 More chill rather than professional-ish stuff
 Might have to move because of Little 500
 Might involve UGS recog work
 Culture of Care
 They have program called “step up” with friends helping each
other regarding various problems
o They’ll do a grad-centered workshop/event
o Mostly for branding efforts
o No $cost$
 Brady: We have announcements that seems more effective when posted
onto group sites (within schools/departments)
o Next Two Weeks: Campus Curriculum Committee, Board of Trustees, Dean of
Student Advisory Council (Brady)

 Graduate school has one in April 21 in Frangipani

Liaison’s Report – Olivia
 Diversity Committee Resolution
 Team opposing “trad youth organization”
 Committee on multicultural understanding
o Writing a letter that was supposed to go against the trad
youth
o Evelyn, in committee, wants to circulate petition to show
support against org.
 Brady will send out email to _______ about lactation room, brought up at
previous Assembly Meeting
Sustainability Officer Report – Jeff
 Bringing the Fossil Fuel action items to the relevant people
 Bike resolution
 Sent Brady the final draft last week
 Basically to develop bike infrastructure
o Andrew and jeff will be talking about
 Trying to develop new foci/sub-committees (e.g. composting)
 Will be discussing ideas after passing the bike resolution
Strategic Planning – Dave
 Lots of different teams how to bring diverse students (event at same time
as January Assembly meeting)
 But all felt they didn’t know what to do once they do get to IU

Provost gave speech about recruiting, but not retention (at a
meeting Brady went to)
IDS did a series on international/diverse students
Discussion:
o Biking (Sustainability) Resolution – Jeff

 Instead of rolling basis
 Something that ExComm handles itself, other than Awards cmte.
 What’s the time frame we’re willing to accept applications?
 Like with Travel and Research Awards

 Yolanda: depending on when you ask, GPSO could be the 1st or last
 Ex. so far in advance then the numbers will be less accurate
 Cayla already has apps in

 We’ll probably get enough apps in each semester that we’ll be able
 Possibly cap money in fall then rollover leftover to spring
 Will be putting in newsletter tomorrow and mentioning at Assembly

more informational stuff
o will be talking about end of semester and/or next year
o ex. there are still some grad students who don’t know all their
responsibilities/constraints/etc.
o maybe do one February/March, then March/April
New Assembly Room meeting
o Assembly not in Woodburn, now in Business for the rest of the meeting
o If reps really don’t like it and/or attendance severely drops, then Brady will push
back on the Scheduling peeps
