The Baton Rouge Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program is approved by the Louisiana
State Board of Nursing (LSBN). Current Mission of LSBN is to safeguard the life and health of the citizens
of Louisiana by assuring persons practicing as registered nurses and advance practice registered nurses
are competent and safe.

ACCREDITATION BY ACCREDITATION COMMISSION FOR EDUCATION IN
NURSING (ACEN)
The Baton Rouge Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program is accredited by the
Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This nursing program was granted five (5) initial
accreditation during September 2010. ACEN establishes national criteria for nursing education programs
throughout the nation. These criteria are aimed at improving and assuring the highest quality of nursing
education.
