Project Achievements
The aim of the Monaro Landscape Connectivity (MLC)
project was to improve the condition, extent and
connectivity of patches of native vegetation across the
Monaro region in the Murrumbidgee catchment.
The MLC project was an initiative of three local
organisations: Kosciuszko 2 Coast (K2C), Murrumbidgee
Catchment
Management
Authority
(CMA)
and
Murrumbidgee Landcare incorporated (MLi). Two years ago
funding was secured from the Australian Government
Caring for our Country program to implement the project
and together with the support of the NSW Office of
Environment and Heritage (OEH) the project has been
successful delivered.
Over the past two years, over 80 landholders have been
involved in the project, in one form or another. Many
received a property visit to learn more about the native
vegetation on your property and its management in
particular the application of Traditional Land Management
Practices (TLMP). Traditional Land Manager Rod Mason has
been generous in sharing a wealth of Traditional
knowledge and the application of Indigenous practices in
managing native vegetation.
29 property owners also attended one of the five
workshops that were held across the region.
Over 440 hectares of endangered Yellow Box woodland
and Natural grassland has been protected as a result of the
MLC project.

and funding related to the management of native
vegetation and sustainable agriculture.
See below a brief description of what each partner does and
contact details if you would like to get involved or to find out
