6/6/2013 Please support the Northcote Primary School Library It’s been another big year for the Northcote Primary School Library. We’ve implemented some exciting initiatives for the benefit of the students - many of which have been funded by your donations. wonderful book. As parent members of the education subcommittee, we’re writing to ask you to make a tax-deductible donation to help the library grow and prosper. We encourage you to take a look next time you’re at school pop in and see what’s been achieved. The Library is now well established in its new location and is staffed by Susi, the library technician. Under her guidance, the Library conducted a survey of the students’ favourite authors and $1500 from last year’s appeal was spent to purchase their works. Last year’s appeal also paid for a stocktake so that we could freshen up the collection and find new homes for our out-dated books. We also implemented a Thursday lunchtime program, allowing the students to visit and borrow books outside class time. All donations over $45 are tax deductible. All the classes attend weekly. The new catalogue is working well and the displays continue to be updated. With your help we hope to keep on improving, while expanding the collection to cater for all the students’ interests. For many years NPS has had an annual Library appeal to provide resources. We do this because the Library receives no targeted Government funding. Tax Deduction To be eligible for a tax deduction in the 2012/13 financial year, your donation must be received by the school by Monday 24 June 2013 to enable time for processing and receipts to be returned to parents by Thursday 27 June 2013. Donations can still be made during Term 3 and Term 4 but will not be eligible for a tax deduction until the following year.
