2014 National Philanthropy Day Awards
The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is an international organization which fosters
development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in
the fundraising profession. The Hudson-Mohawk AFP Chapter is dedicated to mentoring and
nurturing the spirit of philanthropy in both professional fundraisers as well as budding ones.
We invite you to nominate recipients for this year’s awards presentation at National
Philanthropy Day Celebration on Thursday, November 13, 2014. There are three categories.
Please see below for the descriptions.

Youth in Philanthropy recognizes an outstanding youth (or youth group), age 18 or
younger, demonstrating the true spirit of philanthropy through time, treasure, and
talent.

Collegiate Recognition in Philanthropy honors students in the undergraduate or
graduate level providing efforts in philanthropy by means of interning, volunteering, a
special project, fundraising, event management or student group leadership.

Partners in Philanthropy: This award is for a local business or organization that has
partnered with professional fundraisers and non-profits. The organization has
demonstrated commitment through financial support, volunteerism and/or services, as
well as motivating and encouraging employee and community member participation.
Nominations will be evaluated based on:
 quality of leadership and organizational ability in fundraising campaigns
 extent of time and efforts contributed to cause(s)
 financial results proportionate to efforts
 success in recruiting and motivating others
 impact and contribution to local community
