DRAFT 09/04/2014 Project Write Up Template
Project Manager: Karina Ruiz Lopez
Project Title: Homecoming Noise Parade
Date of Project: 10/17/14
Project Location: Harrisburg High School North Parking Lot
Project Description: Prior to homecoming, all four classes will select a superhero
theme and must decorate their float according to their theme. Before the
homecoming game, students can participate by riding their floats accompanied
with the homecoming court riding on classic cars in a parade around town.
Purpose of the Project: The purpose of having a noise parade is to keep the
traditions of homecoming alive that were established by past fellow classmates.
It also provides healthy competition and fun among the classes and it’s a great
way for the school and community to come together and celebrate with us our
school spirit and pride.
Leadership Collaborators and Job Descriptions: I am the main person in charge
of organizing the parade and preparing paper work, contacting the city about the
route designated for the parade and making sure that everything is done on time
and goes smoothly. Carol is my collaborator and she is helping me to plan the
parade route as well as advise me since she was in charge of this event last
year. Theresa is my second collaborator and she is in charge of planning out the
themes for the float and helping me to type and handout the rules and
information for the floats to the class officer on time.
Planning Steps and Timeline:
-Contact the sheriff/city council regarding the rout of the noise parade.
-Plan and have a route idea finished to be examined by Ms. Johnson and the
city.
-Attend city council meeting to get the parade approved.
-Find a total of eight drivers for the floats and homecoming court cars.
-Plan possible float themes to designate to each class.
- Type up handouts inform the student body of the rules for the float and
parade.
-Have the classes choose a theme and distribute the handouts to each class
president.
-A week before homecoming, make sure that the rout and all other things are set
up with the city.
-Create fliers with parade information to pass out to local businesses at least two
weeks before the event.
-Be there on homecoming day to get the floats and cars organized and make
sure everything goes well.
Tools/ Resources needed and your plan to acquire these resources: I would need
city council contact information, internet and computer access, paper work and
someone with previous knowledge bout homecoming planning to move ahead
with the event. Tanks to Carol I have most of these resources provided and with
eh help of Ms. Johnson and the resources available in Leadership I will have all
the tools needed to plan this event.
Proposed Budget: To hold the noise parade we have no need for a certain
budget. The classes are responsible to provide their own money for decorations
and supplies needed for their floats and drivers volunteer their time to drive,
therefore no limited budget is needed to cover this event.
Detailed Directions for Participants: All participants must either be drivers, class
advisors or Harrisburg High School students to participate on the parade. Those
who are participating must be driving or no their class float and must follow the
designated rules during the parade. Failure to do so may result in reduce points
or disqualification.
