Entry Forms:
All entry forms must be submitted no later than December 30, 2011, along with a $35
entry fee (payable to La. Fur & Wildlife Festival) and a wallet size photo for newspaper,
which is non-refundable. First entry fee is $35 for a sibling $25.

Introduction Speech:
Each contestant will deliver a 20 second speech that includes name, parents, school and
community. Speeches will be timed at practice, and points will be deducted for time
violations.
***It is not so important what you say, but more importantly how you say it. Therefore,
the above information and a short catchy phrase is all that is needed. Too much
information causes a contestant to speak too rapidly and will not score well.
Contestant Schedules:
The pageant will be at 3:00 p.m., you may arrive at 1:45 to start getting dressed.
Practice will be held following the conclusion of the first pageant that starts at 11:00 p.m.
Only Pageant Personnel is allowed backstage no one else is allowed at anytime and a
contestant will be disqualified if the rules are not followed.
Queen’s Responsibilities:
Saturday, January 14, 2012:
Attend festival events.
Ride in the parade
January 2013:
Return to give up crown and participate in
Pageant and festival.
***Representation of the festival is encouraged and is the sole responsibility of the queen
and her family. Attendance at local festivals and functions is encouraged. Other pageant
participation as a contestant is allowed.
Prizes:
Queens will receive a crown, flowers, queen’s banner and a gift.
1st and 2nd runner-up and Miss Personality will be named in each division
Rule Concerning Disqualification:
Any unacceptable behavior deemed inappropriate by the Fur Festival Board of Directors
(such as unsportsmanlike behavior during the pageant, irresponsible or disrespectful
behavior while representing the festival, marriage, pregnancy, having a child, cohabitation,
use of illegal drugs, consumption of alcohol, criminal activity, use of profanity, rudeness,
misrepresentation, or any conduct unbecoming of a queen) for a contestant or queen
during her reigning year will result in disqualification from the pageant and forfeiture of title
and all prizes.
Scores:
No scores will be given out, but the judges comments may be obtained from the pageant
director by phone one week after the La Fur & Wildlife Festival concludes.
