Unit Council Minutes
April 4, 2012
Dean Chakrin called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the February 29, 2012 meeting were approved.
2.
INTELLECTUAL CONTRIBUTIONS
Dean Chakrin reported on intellectual contributions since the February 29th Unit Council
meeting.
3.
STRATEGIC PLANNING TASK FORCE
Rita Shea-Van Fossen gave an update on the development of the new strategic plan,
which should be completed by the end of June. She asked for feedback on what priorities
the College should focus on during the next five years.
4.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kathy Yeaton: SIFE Team will be holding a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new
Hydration Station in Core 3 (next to the Cahill Center) at 10:45am tomorrow. The
Hydration Station was funded in part through a SIFE Team o.b. Brand Women for Less
Waste Grant. The SIFE Team will be participating in the Regional competition next
Wednesday, April 11.
Dean Chakrin: The Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony and Dinner will be held
next Wednesday, April 11 from 6-9pm.
Dean Chakrin: The ASB Dean’s Scholarship Reception will be held next Thursday, April
12 from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the Pavilion.
Rita Shea Van-Fossen: The next Teaching Roundtable is Wednesday, April 11 from 12:30pm.
