Treasurer’s Report 2-14-06
In the month of January we spent:
$ 31.75 on Office Supplies
$ 160.00 on Bulk Mail Permit
$ 385.00 on Boys & Girls State Scholarships
$ 571.43 on Art Goes to School
$ 1,148.18 TOTAL
From 1/1/06 to 1/31/06 we had an income of: 636.20
Our bank Balance as of 1/31/06 is:
8,175.83
My list of needs from individual PTA’s has gotten smaller but it is not completely
finished…let’s try this week at the Zone Meeting.
I still need a Budget from: SEPTA
I still need an Audit from: Kilmer
I still need letters of standing from: Johnson & Mann
I still need Art Goes to School & Scholarship payments from:

Scholarship Short Explanation
1. Girl’s State
a. Cherry Hill Zone PTA Sponsors 1 girl
b. The cost in 2006 was $200
2. Boy’s State
a. Cherry Hill Zone PTA sponsors 1 boy
b. The cost in 2006 was $185.
3. Cherry Hill Scholarship Foundation
a. Scholarships are given to Cherry Hill High School Students. The Chairperson of
Zone or the designated representative attends the Scholarship Foundation
meetings and reports back to Zone.
b. This scholarship is based 50% on need; 25% on Academic & Extra Curricular
Activities & 25% Personal Qualities. The applicants need to fill out financial
forms and submit them to the Cherry Hill Foundation.
c. 18-20 scholarships of $500.00 each are given.
4. Jonas C. Morris Memorial Fund
a. Jonas Morris was a tender and very innovative man in Cherry Hill. Cherry Hill
High School West Stadium was named for him.
b. Two cash awards of $250.00 each are presented to one graduate from both of
Cherry Hill High School East and Cherry Hill High School West.
c. The criterion is involvement in school activities, good attendance and a “B”
average, a student that has made a significant contribution to the quality of school
life.
5. Jim Rosa & Al DiBart Memorial Fund
a. Al DiBart was a man who was very interested in our Cherry Hill children and
involved in sports activated for the children.
b. Jim Rosa was principal of Beck Middle School and devoted many years to the
children of Cherry Hill.
c. Cash awards will go to four Cherry Hill High School graduates.
d. Cash awards will also be given to Beck, Carusi & Rosa graduates.
e. This award goes to a student that has made a significant contribution to the
quality of school life.

6. Helen Ameisen Scholarship
a. Helen Ameisen was past President of the Camden County Council of Parents and
Teachers and Honorary President until her death. She was the first Regular
Helping Teacher who, throughout her career, was vitally interested in the
education and health of the children and youth of our county. Some of her
accomplishments were a clinic for infants in the Collingswood Library Building,
the Summer-Roundup Program with free inoculations throughout the County,
and the founding of the Junior Red Cross.
b. Three Scholarships of $250.00 are awarded to three graduating seniors in
Camden County who attended an elementary, junior high, or senior high school,
which has a PTA that contributes to the Helen Amesien Scholarship Fund in the
year they are graduating.
7. Bobbi Richterman Scholarship Fund
a. Bobbi Richterman was a member of the Cherry Hill Board of Education for
many years. Although fighting cancer, she remained on the Board and was
President at the time of her death.
b. This is awarded for dedication to academic achievement, participation in cocurricular activities, and respect for school, faculty and peers.
8. Joan Katz Scholarship Fund
a. Joan Katz was employed in the district for many years. At her retirement she
was principal of Cherry Hill High School West.
b. This is awarded in recognition of exemplary character, service and achievement.
9. Joseph A Capella Memorial Scholarship Fund
a. Joseph Capella was a guidance counselor at both high schools. At the time of his
death from cancer he was a guidance counselor at Carusi Middle School.
b. This is awarded to a student who has worked for the good of the school and it’s
programs.
