Completed applications are due Wednesday November 28, 2007 at 3pm in Kim M’s mailbox in the Student Life Office. Late applications will not be accepted. (For study abroad only; due date for students not going abroad will be announced early next semester). Applicants must sign up for an interview time when they turn in their completed application. There will be a sign up sheet kept at the main desk in student life. Interviews will be held Sunday December 2nd through Wednesday December 5th before members of the current Panhellenic executive Council and the Greek Advisor (for study abroad students only). Immediately upon the completion of all interviews in the spring semester, a slate will be decided, and all interviewees will be notified of the decisions. Upon completion of the slate, the proposed slate will be presented to chapter presidents via email and posted in Kim Monteaux’s Office. The Panhellenic general council will vote on the slate shortly after, and the results will be announced/posted the following day. Questions? (1 hour/week) Attendance at Panhellenic Delegates’ meetings on Wednesday nights. (1 hour/week) Monthly meeting with Greek Advisor (1hour/month) Attendance at Panhellenic/IFC Executive Board Retreat (fall semester) During the week of formal recruitment, availability is absolutely necessary General support and participation in the events of all other executive council members Panhellenic Council Officer Duties (From the Panhellenic Constitution) President: 1. Have an overall responsibility for the operation of the Panhellenic council. 2. Call and preside at all regular and special meetings of the University of Vermont’s Panhellenic Association. 3. Preside at all regular and special meetings of the Panhellenic council. 4. Call and preside at all meetings of the Panhellenic Executive Council. 5. Have voice, but no vote in all Panhellenic Council meetings. 6. Report as require to the National Panhellenic Council Advisor. 7. Represent Panhellenic to the student Association and University Administration 8. Work to implement new ideas of improving the Panhellenic council and the University of Vermont’s Greek System. 9. Shall be informed by each Executive Board member concerning the various duties and functions they perform. 10. Shall be delegate to any committees. 11. Shall act as chairperson of the President’s standing committee. Vice President of Recruitment: 1. Perform the duties of the president in her absence. 2. Direct the Panhellenic recruitment program 3. Develop or implement new recruitment ideas or formats when necessary. 4. Work closely with the chapter recruitment chairpersons to direct and evaluate recruitment. 5. Oversee the recruitment and Public Relations committee. 6. Shall act as Co-Chairperson of the Recruitment standing committee. Vice President of Internal Affairs: 1. Coordinate proceedings with the Vice President of Programming of the intrafraternity Council for the selection of Greek Awards and the presentation of all Greek Awards. 2. Be responsible for implementing academic programming (scholarship)as part of the University of Vermont’s Fraternity System. 3. Work closely with the scholarship chairpersons of each chapter. 4. Sponsor academic and fraternity education workshops, lectures, or programs of general interest to the University of Vermont’s Greek system or community at large. (Greek Week/Greek Games) 5. Shall act as the Chairperson of the Academic Standing Committee. Vice President of External Affairs: 1. Direct the election process for Rho Gamma selection. 2. Organize a Rho Gamma retreat to be held before formal recruitment. 3. Oversee the activities of the Rho Gamma’s. 4. Work closely with the VP of Recruitment in all matters dealing with recruitment 5. Direct the election process for incoming Panhellenic Executive Officers 6. Act as a Co-Chairperson of the Recruitment Standing committee. Secretary/ PR: 1. Keep an up-to-date roll of the members of the Panhellenic Council and call it at council meetings. 2. Keep current statistics concerning the number of initiated and new members of each Panhellenic Affiliated Fraternity. 3. Take and file full minutes of the University of Vermont Panhellenic Association meetings. 4. Keep a record of all action taken by the Executive Board and all meetings 5. Notify the Panhellenic Council of the time and date of all meetings. 6. Be responsible for all correspondence of the Panhellenic Council. 7. Be responsible for reserving facilities for the Panhellenic Council. 8. Act as ex-officio of all Panhellenic Committees. 9. Shall act as Chairperson of the Public Relations Standing Committee. Treasurer: 1. Be responsible for judicial matters. 2. Deal with recruitment infractions 3. Serve as the Co-chairperson with the Chief Justice of IFC of the Greek Judicial Board. 4. Be Responsible for reviewing and revisiting the Greek Judicial Previsions with the Chief Justice of IFC. 5. Review and revise the Constitution of the University of Vermont Panhellenic Association. Philanthropy Chair: 1. Be responsible for planning and coordinating philanthropic service projects for the community and/or the University. 2. Work with the Panhellenic philanthropy chairs on Greek projects 3. Attend all IFC and Executive board meetings.
