SLATE OF TRUSTEES
David P.
Sustaining Trustee, Treasurer, Finance and Budget
I first began attending A.R.T.S. meetings in 1995. I am a fiction-writer and a jazz drummer
(currently learning Brazilian rhythms). A.R.T.S. Anonymous has made a considerable difference
for the better in my life. My first book is being published this year – thank you A.R.T.S. I hope
to express my gratitude through my service as a trustee.
Don T.
World Fellowship Liaison
Don is a musician and songwriter. He has his own band, 4 musicians and two back up singers,
and they play once a month at a restaurant in the East Village.
Don has been in A.R.T.S. since late 1992 and has always done service at the meeting level. In
the past he has worked on the Convention and Conference standing committee and was elected
as a Trustee in May 2001. Don ran the Convention in 2001 with a lot of help from Abby and
others. However that was not a good fit for him. After that he became the Eastern Regional
Trustee and after our Western Regional Trustee stepped down he became the main contact
person for our entire fellowship answering all inquiries and helping people to start new meetings.
He receives several emails every day from A.R.T.S. members. His phone is listed on the
website. Don responds immediately to these inquiries, questions, and needs. Don is a wonderful
singer/songwriter who frequently performs locally in NYC.
Ed S.
Sustaining Trustee
Ed S. is a writer, actor, and animal portrait artist. He has done many student films and some say
“he is a scene stealer” and extremely authentic in every role. Ed came into A.R.T.S. primarily a
painter of animals and recently gave himself the title “animal portrait painer.”
Since joining A.R.T.S. Anonymous in October 1995, Ed volunteered and served in all of the
positions which are available at the meeting level including the following: World Service
Meeting Representative (WSMR), general meeting leader, business meeting leader, treasurer;
recorder, literature person, time keeper and meeting contact person. In 1997, Ed was asked to
serve and accepted the position as A.R.T.S. Corporate Secretary. In 1998, Ed was voted on to the
A.R.T.S. World Service Board as Corporate Secretary and Trustee, Policy & Procedures; then
later as Trustee, Public Information. 2004 to 2007, Ed took a hiatus and in 2007returned to the
Board as the Nominations Trustee, followed by Conference Trustee and now he is in charge of
the meeting fund raising drive. .
Throughout this period, Ed has attended many A.R.T.S. meetings with the goal of creative
recovery and has been rewarded by becoming a world class visual artist in addition to showing
promise as a performing artist.
Eva A.
Trustee for Convention
Eva is an accomplished musician who plays the frame drum. She has performed with many
other recording artists. She is a sought after performer.
Eva joined ARTS in 1998 after participating in her first A.R.T.S. Convention at the request of a
friend in need of a drummer for her ARTShare. She has been performing, teaching, and
recording on the violin and frame drum for more than 20 years around the states and throughout
Europe. Her A.R.T.S. journey has help her reconnect to her love and passion for music, as well
as led her back to her old love for visual art through painting, card and book making. She began
working with the A.R.T.S. Board in February 2003, as a coordinator for the A.R.T.S. 2003
Convention. Eva completed her MSW at NYU, and is now a licensed social worker and a
practicing psychotherapist/psychoanalyst. She believes holding service positions in A.R.T.S. and
working with her fellow board members have not only broadened her skills, but have inspired
new opportunities for her and opened many doors. For this, she has much gratitude.
Frank Lagerstedt
Trustee-at-Large/Chairman of the Board of Trustees
Frank would never call himself an artist yet he has extensive landscape photographs from his
constant travels to Europe and Asia. He also has an amazing garden of trees and pathways next
to his home which he restored to it’s original Victoria beauty. Perhaps Frank is a closet artist?
What do you think?
Frank comes to A.R.T.S. from the business world. As an Executive Director with Morgan
Stanley, Frank has over 25 years’ experience in the securities industry. He is the President of
Customer Asset Protection Company, a licensed insurer, and is an Advisory Director for
American Bankers Association. He speaks regularly at international industry related conferences
and is also involved with several other for-profit corporate boards. He was elected to the ARTS
Board in May 2001 as a Trustee-at-Large after he attended his first Convention in Ocean Grove,
NJ. His experiences with the organization, the Fellowship and the Board have been invaluable to
Frank in all aspects of his life.
Abigail B, A.R.T.S. Founder
Abigail is a painter, sculptor, and writer. When she started A.R.T.S. she could not paint alone
and it took her two years to break through her block. In A.R.T.S. while doing her five minutes
every day religiously every day, she taught herself watercolors. Because of her service to
A.R.T.S. she also became a writer.
Abigail oversees all areas of the A.R.T.S. organization. She works 24/7 for A.R.T.S….and she
likes her work, feels privileged to have meaningful work. If you want to know what she does,
please read her Trustee Report.
