Product Specification Emer-Proof HDPE and Emer-Proof Drain V Self adhesive bituminous waterproofing membrane and HDPE protection & drainage membrane with geotextile fabric *1.0 Waterproofing 1.10 [nominate area(s) for waterproofing] Areas 1.11 Where so designated on the drawings, surfaces shall have a self-adhesive modified bituminous waterproof membrane applied. The waterproof membrane shall be protected by a drainage and protection membrane. 1.12 General All surfaces shall be prepared, primed and the membrane and drainage sheet, applied strictly in accordance with the current manufacturer technical data sheet. All work shall be carried out by a pre-qualified contractor, who is well trained in the application of the specific, documented, membrane system. All materials used in conjunction with the new membrane systems, shall be approved by the membrane supplier. 1.13 Surface Preparation All surfaces to which the new membrane is to be applied, shall be smooth, clean, dry, and free from irregularities. Sand / cement fillets, polymer modified, shall be installed at all change in direction of substrate locations (e.g. from horizontal to vertical). With sheet membranes all internal and external corners shall be double detailed in accordance with the manufactures recommendations. All substrate cracks and surface imperfections are to be filled, sealed and dry prior to membrane application. 1.14 The waterproofing membrane is to incorporate a cross laminated HDPE film. The bitumen compounds used to manufacture the product are to be modified with SBS to promote maximum adhesion to the substrate, and shall exhibit the following properties: Parchem Construction Supplies Document Date: 07/2010 Page 1 of 2 Parchem offers direct assistance with specifications for individual projects; we can visit the site, design office, or arrange a meeting at our branch office.
