Title
Potential measures to reduce national security risks associated with 14 toxic
chemicals.
Description of
issue
Chemical security risk assessment reports have been completed for 14 chemicals
of security concern that are transported/stored in bulk and non-bulk scenarios.
The Attorney-General’s Department proposes to consult the community and
businesses that are involved in the supply chain for these chemicals about
measures designed to reduce the national security risks associated with the
chemicals.
Consultation
opportunities
Industry and community consultation will occur after risk treatment measures
have been developed and agreed through the existing Chemical Security
Management Framework, including sign-off by the National Government
Advisory Group and consideration by the National Industry Reference Group.
