1) What is a catalytic converter?
It is a device which chemically converts harmful exhaust gases, produced by the internal
combustion engine, into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor.
2) What is Euro II Compliance
It is an international emission standard for vehicles in which CO (Carbon Monoxide) is
reduced
3) Are all Corollas Euro II Compliant
No, Corolla 2.OD is not EURO II Compliant as the diesel available in Pakistan has high
sulphur content.
4) Are Altis also Euro II Compliant
Yes, the Altis range is already Euro II Compliant
5) Does a catalytic converter enhance car performance
No, it only contributes in reducing emissions and contributing to a cleaner and healthier
environment. It does not improve car efficiency.
6) Where is the catalytic converter situated in the car
It is situated in the exhaust system
7) How is harmful emission reduced by the catalytic converter
It reduces harmful emission through a combination of heat and a precious metal catalyst
that causes the harmful emissions to either oxidize or reduce to safe elements in the
exhaust flow. The engine, fuel quality and exhaust system work together to reduce
harmful emission from vehicles.
8) When will the catalytic converter be introduced in 1.3L Corolla
