NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP
On July 27, 2005, Feather River Air Quality Management District (District) staff will hold a
workshop to discuss the implementation of Senate Bill 656, Sher 2003 (SB656). SB656 requires
the District to adopt a schedule to implement appropriate control measures to reduce
particulate matter (PM) pollution, specifically fine particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5)
pollution. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved a list of the most readily
available, feasible, and cost-effective control measures that could be adopted to reduce PM10
and PM2.5. Measures included on the list are residential wood burning, non-agricultural open
burning, fugitive dust, stationary combustion, leaks and storage facilities, product
manufacturing, solvents and coatings, fleet rules, transportation related programs, and
incentive programs. SB656 requires the District to review the list and adopt an implementation
schedule of appropriate measures. The aim of this public workshop is to solicit public input,
select and prioritize the most effective, cost-effective and feasible control measures for
implementation in Yuba and Sutter Counties. The workshop will be held at the following time
and location:
Wednesday, July 27, 2005
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Yuba County Government Center
Conference Room #2
915 8th Street
Marysville, CA 95901
The public is invited to attend this meeting. A more comprehensive list of measures will be
discussed at the meeting. Written comments are encouraged to be submitted to the District
prior to the workshop. Please contact Yachun Chow at (530) 634-7659 ex. 202 for additional
information.
