Arts Projects Manager
Job Description
Main Purpose of the Post:
To deliver the practical and logistical elements of the Arches arts events – liaising
with other venues and partners as well as the artists involved, coordinating
operational aspects and working directly with all creative, technical and
marketing teams
Main Duties of the Post:















To co-ordinate and manage the practical elements of specific Arches arts
events which will include negotiating fees and contracts, liaising with the
marketing team and box office, hiring staff, and creating production
schedules and box office set up information
To work with the Arches Technical Manager to collate technical
information and arrange any technical equipment hire
To lead on the practical delivery of Arches LIVE, our autumn new work
festival
To co-ordinate our Talent Development activity including arranging in kind
support
To book and manage our Scottish touring activity
To co-ordinate the Platform 18 , Blackbox, Exhibitions and Brick Awards
To effectively schedule events within the Arches, working closely with all
other departments
To ensure Health and Safety compliance and deliver Risk Assessments
To deliver post event reports
To liaise with other venues, commissioning bodies, festivals and other
relevant professionals
Collating statistical information as required ensuring that agreed
monitoring information is gathered, analysed and distributed.
Providing information for reports to funders and others as required.
To ensure efficient financial management of all event budgets
To ensure accurate reporting of arts attendance figures
To provide general co-ordination support to the Artistic Director and
across the arts programme as required

As a key member of the Arches you are required to act at all times in a
professional and co-operative manner. Working closely, professionally and cooperatively with the management team as well as all members of the Arches staff
team.

You should make yourself familiar with our Health and Safety Policy and
your own health and safety duties and responsibilities, as shown in your
specific Health and Safety booklet and in the employee’s Health and
Safety Handbook and in your department specific Health & Safety booklet.
You must not take any action that could threaten the health or safety of
yourself, other employees, customers or members of the public.
You should check with your manager which Health and Safety
responsibilities are delegated to you in his/her absence, so that you are
fully informed and competent when carrying them out.
You must ensure before being absent that your Health and Safety
responsibilities are delegated to a competent person.
Protective clothing and other equipment which may be issued for your
protection because of the nature of your job must be worn and used at all
appropriate times. Failure to do so could be a contravention of your health
and safety responsibilities. Once issued, this protective wear/equipment is
your responsibility.
You should report all accidents and injuries at work, no matter how minor,
in the accident book.
This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be reviewed from
time to time and the Arts Projects Manager may be required to perform
duties outside of this as operationally required and at the discretion of the
Arts Programme Producer and Artistic Director.

This post will report to Arts Programme Producer
Hours of work:
This job role will be for three and a half days a week within the normal working
patterns for office roles at the Arches, which are from 10 am to 6pm Monday to
Friday.
Some evening and weekend working will also be required.
Salary : 19 – 21K pro-rata
Person Specification
A minimum of 2 years experience in Project Management in an arts or cultural
environment
Experience of producing events
Experience of working in a festival environment
Experience of monitoring and evaluation procedures
Experience of Health and Safety and Risk Assesments
Experience of working in the voluntary sector and with/for charities
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent literacy and numeracy, ideally with experience in budget management
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate well with a
variety of people
Ability to prioritise a demanding workload
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Experience of budget setting and monitoring
Good time-management skills and proven ability to multi-task and meet
deadlines
Self-motivated and reliable with a positive attitude
