Community Coordinator’s Report for April, 1998

ACCOMPLISHMENTS WITHIN TRINITY COUNTY
CERT
Attended KPAC sub committee meeting on April 8 and the State CERT Meeting on April
9 in Redding. The issue primarily discussed was the continuation of the CERT after
December 1998 and how that might be accomplished.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Met with Supervisor Bob Reiss on April 6 to discuss various CERT and Trinity County
topics. Attended Board of Supervisors’ meeting on April 21to assist Laird Crandall with
a presentation of local NorTEC Welfare-to-Work plan.
COMMUNITY COORDINATION
Conducted Trinity County Strategic Plan Meeting on April 7 to review and coordinate
updates and changes to the Strategic Plan. Attended Job Creation Task Force
meetings on April 7 and April 20 to continue refining the local Plan for grant funding.
Attended Healthy Start meeting in Southern Trinity County on April 27. Attended a free
seminar on April 29, sponsored by the Trinity County Chamber of Commerce entitled,
“Do you have to leave so soon?” Seminar was geared for those who have contact with
tourists and/or newcomers to the county, and featured information on how to market the
county more effectively.
FUND RAISING
Began coordinating the draft of the Job Creation Investment Fund Application to send
out to the Job Creation Task Force members on April 30. Continued to research and
coordinate funding sources for various economic development, job training, and health
and human resource projects.
ONE STOP COLLABORATIVE
Coordinated and attended the One Stop Collaborative quarterly meeting on April 28.
Reviewed and updated expiring MOUs and developed new MOUs for new partners with
Laird Crandall.

WELFARE REFORM
Assisted Laird Crandall in coordination of the Welfare-to-Work local plan for signatures
of the Board of Supervisors. Attended Welfare-to-Work local planning meetings on April
20 and April 28 to discuss draft copy of local plan with members of Health & Human
Services.
