NICEIC Seminars in London & Cardiff – feedback from Experts who attended. Prysmian Great setting, prestigious location. Not impressed by presenter who appeared to forget what NICEIC stood for. Prize draw was a good idea. Draka London was a very prestigious event. Good PR opportunity. Made some good contacts. Good responses from audience. More people needed. ABB Millenium Stadium was a good venue for the Expo but London was squashed. Food in London was poor but excellent in Cardiff. Were the topics appropriate? Part P might have been more successful. Difficult to sit on Expert Panel when topic didn’t really address electrical contracting issues. NICEIC should have organised tours of both venues which would have been interesting for visitors. MGE UPS London was a great setting. Attendance too low. Not enough time in Expo for the visitors. Something was wrong with the marketing of the event when 200 people were expected in Cardiff but only 37 turned up. Thought Q&A session was poor. OSRAM Nice venues but not very convenient. Difficult parking for example could give people excuses not to come. Timing was not good – month end and time of day. Tours of venues would have been good. Seminar sessions too long - need a tea break. Proposals for improvements Timing – early evening would be better. Both seminars took place at year end and month end. Very busy times for most people. Monday is a very bad day. Topics Seminar topics were not related to electrical contractors – too highbrow. Part P or other legislation issues would draw in people. Not enough linkage to electrical manufacturers in topics .
