University of Science and Technology of China 96 Jinzhai Road, Hefei Anhui 230026,The People’s Republic of China Postdoctoral Positions for Experimental Particle Physics The Collaborative Innovation Center for Particles and Interactions (CICPI) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) invites applications for five postdoctoral positions, two for the ATLAS experiment, two for the BESIII experiments and High Intensity Electron Positron Accelerator (HIEPA) project. one for the Belle and BelleII experiments. Candidates with research interests in these projects and fields are encouraged to apply. The USTC ATLAS group currently concentrates on Higgs measurements and searches, electroweak measurements, exotic searches, and New Small Wheel upgrade, etc. The successful applicants are expected to play a leading role in the Run-II physics analysis, and will mainly be based at CERN with part time at USTC. The successful candidates for the BESIII experiment and HIIEPA project are expected to play an important role in physics analysis and the detector R&D, respectively. The successful applicant for Belle and BelleII experiments is expected to make major contributions to physics analysis related to D0-anti-D0 mixing. The postdoctoral positions are for two years, with a possibility of extension to another two years. The positions can lead to research scientists or tenure-track assistant professorships, depending on research performance during the postdoctoral periods with USTC. The candidates should have a Ph.D in physics by the date of appointment. USTC provides competitive salary and benefit for postdoctoral researcher. CICPI at USTC is one of the leading research centers in China for experimental particle and nuclear physics. The center hosts several research groups in experimental particle and nuclear physics and theoretical nuclear physics. We have the National Key Laboratory for Particle Detection and Electronics supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Our research programs include both domestic projects in China and several large international collaborative projects. These projects are the BESIII experiment at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider in Beijing, the Daya Bay nuclear reactor neutrino experiment, the LHAASO project, the DAMPE space dark matter search experiment, the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, the Belle and BelleII experiment at KEK, the STAR experiment at BNL, the JLAB 12 GeV upgrade program, and the development of positron beam and muon beam at Chinese Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). There are also detector R&D for future accelerator and non-accelerator based experiments. The research fields of theoretical physics are mainly in phenomenology of particle physics and high energy nuclear physics. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Interested applicants are required to submit their applications with curriculum vitae, a list of publication and research interests to Prof. Qun Wang (qunwang@ustc.edu.cn) and copy to Prof. Zheng-guo Zhao (zhaozg@ustc.edu.cn) with a subject title ‘Postdoctoral Positions at USTC’. In the list of publications, applicants should identify up to 3 most relevant ones and provide a short description of their role. Applicants should further arrange for at least three recommendation letters to be sent to the above email address.
