Tracking Number: To be assigned Position Duties and Responsibilities: Assistant Professor – Tenure Track – Nine-Month Academic Year Appointment Reports to: Mr. Barry Wilson, Department Chair – Graphics and Imaging Technologies The successful applicants will be able to teach classroom and lab activities in two or more of the following areas: audio and video capture, graphic softwares, digital file preparation, color theory and reproduction, web-to-print, cross media, digital media, and web/interactive media. Responsibilities of all faculty include: short- and long-term strategic planning and departmental promotion; student advisement; curriculum development; serve on departmental, college and university committees; maintain professional educational and industry contacts; and perform other professional activities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in appropriate field required for tenure-track position. Minimum three years fulltime industrial experience or professional practice and current technical knowledge of subject matter listed. Candidate should have a background in input, manipulation and output of graphics across various media platforms. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degree preferred. Substantial current industrial experience in subject matter listed. Experience teaching adult and university-level learners. Position Start Date: August 2015. Position is contingent upon funding. Department Description: The Department of Graphics and Imaging Technologies is one of four departments and one school within the College of Technology at Pittsburg State University. The GIT department offers a comprehensive graphics program that includes courses in the input, manipulation, output and management of graphic images, products and services. Programs of study within the department include a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications with six areas of emphasis; Digital Media, Graphic Design, Graphics Management, Print Media, and Web/Interactive Media and Packaging Graphics, five minors, a Master’s degree in Technology and a Bachelor of Applied Science for transfer students.
