Student Alumni Board 2015 Application The Student Alumni Board (SAB) serves as the Board of Directors for the Student Alumni Association (SAA). The Board consists of an executive board that oversees strategic areas of responsibility within the Student Alumni Association. SAB meetings are held on Thursdays. Not every meeting will be mandatory, but members should keep this time open for committee meetings or meetings of the entire board. Hembree Alumni House: Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 5:00 pm Applications will be reviewed and those receiving interviews will be notified before Winter break Interviews will occur during the first two weeks of the Spring semester 1. On a separate sheet of paper, please type the following information. Looking at the attached list of positions, please discuss your top 3 areas of interest and what makes you qualified to serve in this capacity. Your application should be no more than 4 pages long, stapled in the following order: 1) Informational cover sheet, 2) Resume, 3) 4 Questions, and 4) Position Ranking sheet. Please place your name at the top of each page of your application. Thank you for applying! Student Alumni Board 2014 Positions Below are the 5 focus areas of SAB. Each area will have a director, program chairs and committee members. Homecoming Steering Committee – Responsible for the signature event where students, alumni, & the community can connect to campus. This committee coordinates and supports all aspects of the 2014 Homecoming in the Fall, although most planning aspects should be completed in the Spring and Summer. Razorback Spirit Committee – Responsible for the oversight and implementation of the new tradition of Beat Week against Mizzou in the Spring semester for Basketball season. Alumni Relations Committee – Responsible for creating ways for students to connect to Alumni & Alumni to reconnect to campus. This includes building a mentoring program, dinners with alumni, and Senior Walk Dedications. Traditions Committee – Responsible for building and maintaining the traditions of the University of Arkansas. This committee will focus on expanding awareness of the Official Ring and collaborating with campus partners to create a Traditions book. Membership Committee – Responsible for recruiting and retaining members of the Student Alumni Association. This committee will develop SAA membership and renewal appeals, as well as identify SAA member involvement opportunities and ensure recognition of outstanding volunteer contributions by SAA members. Communications Team – This team will work with the VP for Marketing & Communications to effectively communicate the mission of SAA/SAB, and they will market the events and opportunities to it members, campus, and community. Sponsorships & Fundraising Team – This team will work with the Arkansas Alumni staff to recruit sponsors for the various activities that SAB & SAA plan. Members of this team will gain valuable sales and marketing experience. Questions?
