Classroom Technology Report update
David Porter gave an update on the Classroom Technology Report. (see attached

their March 26th meeting.
Some highlights:
 Seven NOMAD classrooms have been brought on line for the
Spring 2009 semester and six of them are general assignment.
All seven classrooms are equipped as Level 2 classrooms.
 Additional laptop carts have been purchased.
 The CBLS building came on line in January with 3 general
assignment classrooms.

the fall semester via a $119,000 Champlin grant.
 David Porter made a presentation to the Council of Deans
about the updated classroom technology.
He also reported on possible future planning of classroom technology in conjunction
with the Economic Stimulus funds. Nothing has been confirmed yet.
Other items
Dean Libutti reported that renovations to Edwards Auditorium may be forthcoming.
Renovations may include technology and fire safety. The provost and VP Weygand
are working on this.
There was also some discussion on classroom renovations that have been done
within the year. They were as follows:
 Furniture replacement was done in Rooms 309 and 316 Washburn Hall
 There are all new departmental classrooms in Lippitt Hall
 There are 3 new classrooms in Independence Square
 There are 3 new classrooms in CBLS : Rm. 100-319 seats, Rm. 10- 94 seats, Rm.
452-26 seats. Rm. 100 and Rm. 10 have technology and Rm. 452 has a whiteboard.
Discussion was also initiated about how more general assignment classrooms are
needed. We currently have 106 general assignment classrooms and will be getting 4
more when the new Pharmacy building is on line.
Ann,
This is the point I had to leave the meeting.
In your notes, you have something about policy (written on your agenda paper
at the top) and then you have something about maintenance challenges. I’m
not sure how to word this. Can you write a couple of sentences to fill that in
and then anything else that was relevant at the end of the meeting.
Thanks,
Eileen
