Ayes: 5, Noes: 0, Absent: 0 6.0 REPORTS 6.1 A.S.B. President Mr. Mejia reported that the 8th grade Valentine's Dance will be held on February 13th in the gym from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. He reminded everyone to wear pink or red on Friday for Valentine's Day. Buttonwillow will play against Lost Hills basketball on Friday. Next Friday, Lost Hills will travel to Maple school. 6.2 Director of Business Services Mrs. Bland informed the Board of the new procedures in place by PINCO (Partners in Nutrition Co-Operative). By joining PINCO, the District can order cafeteria supplies and food in bulk, which is less expensive, only paying for shipping costs. A District representative and alternate must be board approved. The district representative will attend approximately 5 meetings throughout the school year in Bakersfield. Each meeting is 2 hours long. An orientation is scheduled this month for the representative. Mrs. Bland informed the Board that while the district representative is away from campus during the meetings, another employee will be put in her place to cover while she is away. 6.3 Family Resource Center Absent. 6.4 Principal Absent. 6.5 Assistant Superintendent Absent. 6.6 Board Members Mrs. Cortez reported she is continuing to review all district financial reports in order to keep learning. She is hoping to be able to take a September board member training. Ms. Medrano thanked the grounds department on the great job they are doing maintaining the school campus clean. She has noticed the change and has seen the grounds employees cleaning debris on the side of the school. Page 3 of 5 6.7 Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Favereaux reported that Mrs. Saso, Mrs. Gregory along with Mrs. Gutierrez and Mrs. Avila were in Fresno today for a ELA/ELD framework training. Mr. Favereaux reported the enrollment numbers, in Mrs. Gregory's absence: 153 students enrolled in the middle school, and 417 in the elementary school. Students who received a 3.5 gpa for 1st semester, attended a bowling trip on January 30th. The students had a great time. LCAP meetings are being held this month. 5 meetings have already been held with staff and parents. In additional 5 meetings will be held later this month to receive input from all the stakeholders.
